Not really, Only Dji will be able to tell you that, if it was repaired etc.

Yes, connect it to a PC or Mac and have a look at all the internal records that you can see with DJI Assistant. You won't be able to read the records, but you can see number of flights and dates.

Can anyone confirm that the following serial number is valid for a Mavic Pro 2:  163DF8D001V846

Looking to buy one secondhand (but new/sealed in box), and just want to be sure the seller is legit.  

I tried the decoder at tools.retroroms.info, but it comes back as an 'unknown' device (bad) with a manufacture date of '13 August 2018' (probably okay?).  Wondering if maybe the decoder just hasn't been updated to recognize the Mavic 2 yet?

I have the same problem, when checking for the S/N of my Sealed DJI Mavic Air it tells me:

Model: Unknown, build on: 18. May 2018

Is there anything wrong with it? Would be good to know before I unseal the box

Did you buy it from an authorised DJI dealer? If so then you'll be fine. You only really need to check these s/n's if buying second hand from an unknown source like Ebay.

For anyone else that's curious, it does seem like Mavic 2 Pro serials start with "163D" (or possibly even "163DF"), as seen in this video at youtu.be/jRj2wUwPUvI?t=74:

i'm a new user so i can't create at this stage a new thread, short story long, i bought a DJI mavic air off ebay from a seller that claims that the product is been refurbished by DJI and comes with a regular 12months warranty, so i wish to check if this is true or not, as well the serial on the box doesn't match the serial number on the mavic, i will appreciate if an admin can look in to this and give some extra information.
