Well that in itself is a flaw in the process, is it not?  I'm not even going to elaborate on what  ...

At the end of the day forums are not a necessary function of business so the chances of getting anybody from upper management is far and few between. Unfortunately even if there was a member of upper management that could offer answers of any level the pure fact is that the answers still would not be good enough for somebody out there whether its content or tenor based ultimately making their time and efforts useless. Ultimately we would end right back where we are today.

So either way Im happy that any effort, regardless of position, title or depth of commitment is made by any company to participate in social forums even if its only some side help trying to do their best at managing the forums and answering the questions regardless of how much or how little they may or may not know.

at the end of the day we still have to look at that this forum could not be here at all and the guys that do participate from DJI could have zero participation on any social forum and we would be a lot further in the darkness that we currently are. Just sayin...

Thanks....ETA on the waypoints/GS feature?

We do not.  One of the SDK developers has developed one for the P3P.  It has not be optimized for the Inspire.

Well ...
Looking at it that way you are absolutely right!

It was just the battery.  That is why the user that is on .03 has an issue and needs to get to .06 then .09.

...attempting my 2nd point again...

Waypoints were promised as a release feature of the I1 5 months ago.  On release...nothing.  Then, with the release of the P3, they got waypoints.  Soon after DJzi announced 3 new features for the I1 in "a few months".  2 of them came down with the previous fm upgrade, except the 1 everyone's been looking for...waypoints.  So, with every fm upgrade, we' desperately asking: WHEN?

So, with every fm upgrade, we' desperately asking: WHEN?

WHEN is a good question.  And so is: WHY has this been back-burnered for the more expensive aircraft despite having been promised at time of release, when it is being released for the less-costly P3?  Does no one at DJI understand what message this sends?  How much of the Inspire customer base will trust a future product release announcement now?  I have little doubt that an actuary could translate this into lost income for DJI, and I suspect the amount is not trivial.

The P3 waypoints was released by an SDK Developer not DJI.  I think they went for the larger market first.

The when and why I do not know.  DJI has said it will be a feature.  I am sure it will.  I have used it on my P2V+.  I have not used it for a long time.  Max distance is 500m.

Mate, how would one go about actually asking DJI this, or any other question?  Normally, it's through managed forums like this one, but, it's been broadly stated and accepted that DJI does not utilise the forum in this way.

Still a good question none the less...  I mean, is the LOS requirement necessary in every scenario?  I.e. What if you're out in the wilderness, away from any life...that's where one would want to "stretch your legs", right?

These questions are forwarded to DJI so they understand user's concerns.  We communicate with DJI regularly and then wait for their response.  We are your advocates but do not set policy.

Graham, since the App was developed by an independent developer, it is up to them what platforms they port the App to, not DJI.  It is not something we developed.

Interesting, as it was sold as a DJI feature on the release of the P3.  So, essentially, DJI has no say in this feature's development ETA for the I1?

Autumn,

After updating the Inspire with the latest firmware I did not update the controller as per your instructions.

The original notification received on the iOS app is about the Phantom 3.  I do not have a Phantom 3 so why am I getting these messages on the iOS app.

Is it possible for DJI to be specific with their upgrades and notifications in regard to Phantom and Inspire aircraft based perhaps on the aircraft registered in the App as it seems to be going down the road of a generic app with some updates only specific to one aircraft type even if you don't own one or the other.  Alternatively just release  updates specific to individual aircraft type then there is no confusion as to whether you need to update only the aircraft or controller.

Can you also enquire with the DJI team how to remove a former aircraft from the User Account Profile as my old aircraft is still showing on my profile.

Please also note that after updating the Inspire, and flight testing with two batteries, the audio voice notifications seem to have gone.

Dear DJ-Autumm,

We've had a problem with our DJI Inspire 1 (FLYAWAY + CRASH) on 07 june.

Our Storry:
We have been using the DJI Inspire 1 for some time now (since March 2015). And we absolutely love it!
Until recent we never had any problems controlling the inspire ( indoors and outdoors ).
Last week we ordered a second remote and when we went outside to test it, the drone was acting a little strange.

Now we always make sure that all the settings are correct and up to date.
The weather was also great with no wind.
The drone started to drift away on its own and crashed to a tree.
Luckily we were not flying high, it was about 1.50 meters high and the drone fell on the grass.
At first sight it didn’t look so bad, only 2 propellers broke and the rubber dampers came out of the mount.

We cleaned everything up and put the rubber dampers back in its place. We went back outside and tried to test it in an open field.

Before we started we calibrated & checked everything, and right after we took of the inspire was totally out of control. It was drifting away like crazy !!!

We took it back inside and double checked everything, we even did check the updates again to make sure nothing was wrong with that.

The second test flight went better,
the Inspire was flying normal again, but this time the landing gear was responding very late when it approached the ground.

But the biggest issue is the gimball. The camera wasn’t showing stable images anymore so we disconnected the camera and checked if anything was wrong with it.

When we tried to reconnect it, the gimbal was spinning like mad and wouldn’t stop.

• 13/06/2015: We contacted DJI Europe
--> we had to contact our dealer
2 MONTS later, Dji Responds to our dealer that we have messed out with our software,
whereby they are not accepting  to repair our Inspire under warranty.
• If DJI said or came with a different reason which was acceptable , we would have paid the costs with pleassure!
But messing out with the software??
How could we do someting like that? If all updates are coming from DJI's official website and we updated our drone by following the update procedure of DJI itself.

• Our dealer contacted us and said the cost where arround 700-800 €,
which we did not accept. Because that reason it's not acceptable, we asked our dealer to ask DJI to check our LOG-Files where they can see our flights and see perfectly which command we gave to our drone vs the respons of the drone.

• Few weeks later we got contacted again by our dealer with the response: DJI is still saying the same and there is no other reason for reparation under warranty. But according to our dealer they managed to reduce the costs to arround 500 €

• We did accept the invoice but that we would like to see the results of the test which show there really is messed out with the sofware. Until today we still havn't got our drone back after 3 MONTHS.

We still love DJI and his products, and we use them alot for our professional work, we even recomend it to other companies. We were even planning of buying other products like the ronin, X5, osmo, ...

but by reason of this kind of service, we are starting to lose faith in DJI.
