Dear DJ-Autumm,
We've had a problem with our DJI Inspire 1 (FLYAWAY + CRASH) on 07 june.
Our Storry:
We have been using the DJI Inspire 1 for some time now (since March 2015). And we absolutely love it!
Until recent we never had any problems controlling the inspire ( indoors and outdoors ).
Last week we ordered a second remote and when we went outside to test it, the drone was acting a little strange.
Now we always make sure that all the settings are correct and up to date.
The weather was also great with no wind.
The drone started to drift away on its own and crashed to a tree.
Luckily we were not flying high, it was about 1.50 meters high and the drone fell on the grass.
At first sight it didn’t look so bad, only 2 propellers broke and the rubber dampers came out of the mount.
We cleaned everything up and put the rubber dampers back in its place. We went back outside and tried to test it in an open field.
Before we started we calibrated & checked everything, and right after we took of the inspire was totally out of control. It was drifting away like crazy !!!
We took it back inside and double checked everything, we even did check the updates again to make sure nothing was wrong with that.
The second test flight went better,
the Inspire was flying normal again, but this time the landing gear was responding very late when it approached the ground.
But the biggest issue is the gimball. The camera wasn’t showing stable images anymore so we disconnected the camera and checked if anything was wrong with it.
When we tried to reconnect it, the gimbal was spinning like mad and wouldn’t stop.
• 13/06/2015: We contacted DJI Europe
--> we had to contact our dealer
• 2 MONTS later, Dji Responds to our dealer that we have messed out with our software,
whereby they are not accepting to repair our Inspire under warranty.
• If DJI said or came with a different reason which was acceptable , we would have paid the costs with pleassure!
But messing out with the software??
How could we do someting like that? If all updates are coming from DJI's official website and we updated our drone by following the update procedure of DJI itself.
• Our dealer contacted us and said the cost where arround 700-800 €,
which we did not accept. Because that reason it's not acceptable, we asked our dealer to ask DJI to check our LOG-Files where they can see our flights and see perfectly which command we gave to our drone vs the respons of the drone.
• Few weeks later we got contacted again by our dealer with the response: DJI is still saying the same and there is no other reason for reparation under warranty. But according to our dealer they managed to reduce the costs to arround 500 €
• We did accept the invoice but that we would like to see the results of the test which show there really is messed out with the sofware. Until today we still havn't got our drone back after 3 MONTHS.
We still love DJI and his products, and we use them alot for our professional work, we even recomend it to other companies. We were even planning of buying other products like the ronin, X5, osmo, ...
but by reason of this kind of service, we are starting to lose faith in DJI. |
