Thanks. I thought the landing gear was up. I saw it go up on takeoff.
yeah after i got back I realized I flew into the wind and would have recovered power on the flight back next time

That's great, but don't think it's given! Next time in different place you may be in trouble getting her back home. Just be cautious flying this far ...

It looks like 17158.79 feet one way...wow impressive distance. I've gone as far as 13,000 feet with the MP (one way).

I flew very conservatively with over 50% power on return. if the camera is not on the weight is much less. I always feel safer flying over water. would be much worse with an over land failure.

Wow, that's quite the test. It would have even better with a camera mounted. Could have seen Tom Hanks out there on a paddleboard coming back from his island.  Guess you like putting $3K into the wind and see what happens

Were you using the stock controller or the Cendence?

Thanks Rich it was with the stock controller. I was able to save weight without the camera and I did notice a substantial increase in flight time. I felt confident with this test and the drone is under warranty so if it would have failed dji would have replaced it. I’m very impressed with this drone an wish I would ha e gotten the inspire 1 many years ago when it first came out.  Thanks for watching.

They would replace it if you recover the aircraft, unless I’m missing something?

no if it sinks you wont have to recover it for dji to honor aircraft failure crash.

That would be after they determine it was aircraft failure though.  This company does not like doing that.
