Hello,

There are now a "new" legal framework for pleasure drones flight in BE.

https://mobilit.belgium.be/nl/lu ... _drone_privegebruik

In short : Max 10m altitude, only private ground, 50m away from people.

You can pass a certification for Class 1 ( Pro ) or Class 2 ( semi-pro ). Details in Dutch or French in link above.

Cheers!

Most people want to fly as a Hobby won't pay that much for a licence.  What a shame.  At least you are close to other Euro countries.   Fly in those

Belgium airspace

Hallo Arnor, i'm using the new app droneguide.be from Belgocontrol.
It shows in real time controlled airspace, Helicopter training area's, Low flight zones etc...
Living at the westcoast i discovered that airspace is mostly free for droning( klasse 1+2) during weekends and during week from 17h30! I mean the controlled airspace far around the airport of Koksijde.Location below is normally controlled airspace..Emoticon

Did you pass you class 1 or 2?

Otherwise flying under 10m is a joke :-)

Would you recommend to get the Class2 or wait until next year with new EU regulations? Did you learn something useful?

Class2 allows to be used for commercial flights within his limits(45m/H-50mDistance)...
So far i have been able to make some fine hobby projects with this limits.
About useful tips during the lessons, most are about security and this really stays with you when you plan a take-off.
Sure everyone following these fora nows what these security rules are!
About class2 skills for practical exam, you have to exercise yourself to be ready for the test! see some here in dutch

I looked at the site listed above and i must say, they have made it very confusing.  I agree that the personal use of a drone is very limited and boarderline unfair.  It is in your best interest to get a 1b class license.  At least that is what i'd get.

10 meters!?! That’s a joke!!!
And paying 2850 euros to be able to go to just 45 meters height is even more of a joke to me!!!
That’s just plain mockery!
I feel for you Belgians. And it looks like the government doesn’t like and doesn’t want the drones.

Safe Flying.
Alex.
