I have a mini 4 and every thing is fine and cool!

I ended up with a 16gb mini 2 wifi/3g locked to vodafone from ebay which turned out to be 32gb and unlocked, bargin

I use iPad mini 4

I have 2 air's, 2 mini's and a NVidia shield. The mini gets the most use because of it's size and balance on the controller.

Note 4 - Ipad does not work well in the very hot weather here in Rio...

I use the old razor flip phone, call me old school

Be aware that some application to control the drone that are coming out "REQUIRES" that you have 2GB of ram so that puts the mini3 to a No no ... I have a mini3 and I got problems with some applications and the amount of RAM is the problem so I'll be switching for a Mini4 probably because I like the lightweight and the possibility to add a big casing to protect it and still been able to clip it on the bracket

When you say "not work well" what you mean ? application crash ?

The Mini 2 overheats in the sun on hot days (95+F). This causes video to drop out and is a severe safety hazard. I am waiting patiently to see if a Mini 4 with a decent performance upgrade is released this September/October (fingers crossed). If not then I may consider the smaller iPad Pro or wait until next spring to see if anything better comes along.

The WiFi versions don't have GPS so you want the cellular one if you want the tablet to know where *you* are

I have an iPad air 2 64G, I like and recommend it.

iPad Pro with cell service.

Ipad Mini 4 128gb Cellular here. I tend to buy at the top of the curve. I also have a iPad Air2, I find the screen easier to look at obviously but it's pretty wobbly and awkward in my opinion.

You can still store a iPad Air in the DJI hardshell backpack as I do that. You just lift the top cover out of the foam and I keep my iPad Air and sun shade in there.

I do not have it anymore. It's very easy, just open unzip the entire case and lift the top cover away from the foam and that's your storage area.

If you do not have a case on the iPad or just the tiny thin cover it will fit just fine and will zip up too. I did that for close to a year and it worked great.
I kept the iPad Air and folding soft HoodiVision Padhat sunshade inside it.

Yes, just pull the foam out just a bit from the top and you will see. It should not be glued and free to remove.

i prefer ipad mini, because i have one and feel good. I am going to buy a new case for my ipad mini also. i saw leather case is nice . but i don't think is good to protect my ipad, because i always break it down. i also found this  https://www.amazon.fr/Btik-Houss ... 8&redirect=true maybe this is more practical. what do u gays think? aaaaa,i have no idea !

Mini 3 is really no better tan a Mini 2. Same amount of memory. If you step up you should step to the Mini 4 because you get 2gb of memory and a barometer.

We'll see. Seems to be some speculation that there isn't going to be one this go-around. Guess we'll know in a week or two. .

Hello from Sunny (well what passes for sun) Scotland. New P3/4k pilot taxi-ing into position. Documents read, batteries charged up and had a prowl through the forum.

After going through all this thread it looks like the Credit Card is about to take another hammering and not getting put away ... just yet.

From what I have read so far, I 'need' the Wi-Fi and Cellular facility for all the 'Goody Things'.

So, would the iPad Mini2 with WiFi & Cell be up to the job?
Will I need to buy any more kit such as a connecting cable of some sort between the iPad and Control or is there a supplied connector?

Your iPad Mini 2 with cellular should suffice. You can use your iPad's current lightning cable, but you may want to look into something a tad shorter to limit the amount of tangling that tends to happen.

I use the air 2 works great.

This hood is awesome use it all the time, and it's only 8 bucks!

Only thing I would do is get the Cellular version for the GPS but there's ways to work around that.

I've never had a heat problem with Mini 2, but I do use a sun shade..

I have the Ipad air 2 with no issues. Love the bigger screen vs my Iphone7+
