It's pretty damn good for the money.  I wouldn't trust this in the hold of a plane but for local travel it's fine.


I'll probably add some badding to the motors but it works well. I've put the iPad mini glass to the sun sheild to protect it.

Or this one, if you want a backpack soft case.  Only $50 bucks.  Note, you will have to remove some foam to get the Tx to fit, but it was very easy

That's nice too.  I prefered the hard case... the DJI case is $461.52 in the UK at current exchange rate.  That's half the price of the P3A which is just crazy.

Anyone on here use a soft backpack without foam? I'm looking at two different ones right now:

Just worried that the softback might not protect the motors on the copter very well.

I'm going to make some foam motor protectors and that's even for the hard case.  I prefer the pre-cut foam solutions more than the Velcro dividers.

Essentially, is the same backpack that DJI sales for way too much! Thge original DJI P3 backpack is made by Manfrotto  (model no 3N1-35 PL ). But guess what....Kata was bought by Manfrotto so they have exactly same backpack model (with exactly the same model no 3N1-35 PL).  So why pay crazy money for same thing (more or less, ok the Kata bag doesn't have the zipped pockets like the original DJI backpack has). The Kata is exact same size, so the DJI P3 fits same as it does in the DJI Backpack. Instead of the zipped pockets, there are lots of pads that can be placed around the DJI P3 and that makes room for plenty accessories... It's really well build and I love it for what it is...and I love that price too

But if you're after good quality and great service support,  I recommend you the ThinkTank Helipak is outstanding quality!!!

My Ebay backpack just turned up and for the price I am very happy with it. Looks the same as the others posted here black with red trim. Now I just need my pre order P3 Pro to turn up .... lol
