I do not know what everyone is expecting from the new Mavic? A Better Video Camera? maybe yes! But the anti-collision sensors do not see any advancement. I can only consume more energy by reducing flight time ... I can cause false alarms to produce an uncontrolled flight. Nothing is like sightseeing and watching the direction of flight through the main camcorder! Anticolision sensors can not detect electrical wires/ between tree poles leaves without/ antenna leaves extensions / and many others that have crashed to advanced users who relied on sensor protection for a worry-free flight

to be honest ... I can agree with you ... but only for the consideration ... about,
many crash only because take off without any observation , planning , checklist ...

but I have to admit that anticollision system is useful when used with enough caution ...

I mean ... before to take off , we already must to know what we whant to do and
where we want to go , what we have around , obstructions , any radio disturbs ,
highter obstacles , route ... and then ...

when we use anticollision system to make sure about distance from a wall ( that we already to know ) or ...
maybe when unfortunatelly we loss signal ... and then he can back ( probabilly better ) at home ...

why don't use it ?

I'm feel better when I use it than not ...  
but never take off without have a good plan ...
expecially when I plane to take pictures than shoot a video...

when I have a flight plan and know the surroundings I rely on it visually! I do not give a $ 1000 drone in the care of sensors that can not detect small objects and get to send the flight log for a quick repair to DJI full of costs

have 2 different points of view, does not mean that we think wrong or that one is wrong and the other is right ...

I feel great comfortable with DJI ...
I think these sensors help me a lot, and it's already happened ...
flight indoor , inside the forest ... inside the park with waterfalls ...

sometimes seeing the drone does not mean understanding how far it is from an obstacle ... like a waterfall or a tree or others ...

use active sensor to make smooth video footage ...has always helped me  ...

but again, having different points of view ... does not mean that I'm right or wrong ...

I feel great with these dji drones ...
I moved from a phantom 3 adv to a phanthom 4 pro and I must say that the difference is noticeable ...
it's not only the camera

the greater flight stability of the p4p comes from all those sensors ...

gps, compass, barometer, imu, vision sensors ...
all together keep our beloved drones stable ...

having said this, I  never take off without awareness, ability to pilot the drone without automatic controls , checklist made, planned flight, preventive check of the area involved on the flight ...and some otheres things

but these are simple basic rules...
that everybody to know and following to avoid any fly away or others problems ...

then ...
I'm still with my fingers crossed , hopeing to see this new drone with airlapse feature included ...

but maybe I'm only a dreamer

I mean ...
he can just restart a 2nd and 3rd flight exactly from point where end the previous one ...

or something like this ... I really don't know ... but I would like to have an easy airlapse feature ...

and ... when I saw the video presentation ... I started to dream that was true ...
