If i hover at say 3 mts and then move forward over a rising field will the AC stay at 3mts above the ground or is the altitude (height) determined on sea levels?

It goes straight forward..it will not rise with the hill, so ne carefull

Height is determined by barometric pressure at your launch point.  It starts at zero.  Your altitude reading during your flight is relative to your launch point.

Hi, Thank you for the inquiry, if the aircraft is hovering 3 meters above the ground and command it to move forward it will stay at the same altitude meaning you have to command the aircraft as well if it's a rising field. Please avoid any obstacle to prevent incident as well. Please don't hesitate to reach us back in any case you need our help.

I thought the Spark via sensors would maintain altitude above ground.  on rising ground. On dropping ground it would stay at the same height.

Also, on gently rising ground, wouldn't the forward collision avoidance kick in?

OK so her is what I found.

I hovered at 1.13 mts (height of my walking stick!) facing up a slope.
On command forward Spark went forward as if on a spirit level and eventually would have hit the slope.
The Height reading on my device however showed the height above the ground starting at 1,13mts and ending (when I stopped) at 0.3 mts.
You learn something all the time.  DJI Tony was quite right.

thanks for the confirmation. I must have read this in another dji unit manual.
