How is the distance from home base measured for the Phantom 4 Advanced? I have been using a range finder alongside the drone, therefore I know it is not the distance parallel to the ground. It also does not seem to be the diagonal distance. Does anyone know how it is calculated?

It is calculated from GPS co-ordinates. Current location compared to home point.

Would it be possible that the GPS coordinates are not functioning properly therefore the distance is wrong? When I tested the distance with the laser range finder it was 188m, however the drone said it was 411m.

And what is the distance as measured with Google Maps?

Something is wrong .. and it's very unlikely to be the Phantom's GPS.
