Hello there,
I flew my MAVIC PRO from a hotel where I am staying and followed (walked with) it about a mile. Once battery went into return HOME MODE, I was about a mile from the hotel and tried to land where I was currently located...not good, the MAVIC went to the parking lot where I took off, and that could have cost me my MAVIC, as cars could have run it over!

Anyway you can avoid that to happen in the future?

You may want to read the manual once or twice again.
Not worst than losing your bird.

Unless you’re talking about Critcal low battery RTH, you can always cancel RTH via the prompt it gives you.
But, as said above, read the manual where all this is explained

True, and during critical low batt landing still possible to steer the craft in all directions!

Just give it a try ; have it hover in front of you at 11%...wait for 10% low batt landing and play with the sticks!

I learnt this one the hard way and I'm thankful holding the stick up was able to override it.
