The real question is should I sell my DJI Phantom 4 Pro and get the DJI Mavic 2 Pro instead due to its portability. I really do love the Phantom platform, but given how good the specs of the Mavic Pro 2 are I think I might purchase it. Its specs are quite close or better compared to the latest Phantom drone. What I really like about this new drone is that it has a Hasselblad camera built in which is incredible. I do travel a lot so it would be more practical to travel with, yet I would lose quality. The only difference I have heard is that it doesn't have the ability to shoot 4k 60 frames per second. I mainly shoot at 1080p 60 frames per second so that wouldn't matter too much. I am really thinking about investing in this new Mavic, but thought I'd ask for a second opinion! Happy Flying!

Hi Suren.
What is and was the deciding factor for you to sell the P4 for the M2?

Maybe wait a little for real user comparisons on image quality.
(if that is the most concern)

A name means nothing.
Hasselblad has sold their name to some 'low level' camera before.
(a Sony Nex 7 with the HB name on it and about ??x the price....)

Very true, same as Zeiss, its all over cheap pocket cameras.
I wonder if the Pro delivers better stills than the P4P.
It doesnt look like from one of the review videos i saw.

DJI has a Majority stake in Hassleblad for 2 years. I highly doubt they are just licensing a name?

Hasselblad does cameras with so called medium size sensor.... and they do it without the compromises, like having 400MP with nice pixel pitch and doing 3 shots to compose one for a full 400mp utilization. TIFF produced is in GB ranges for single shot... 1" sensor is whole different story and I am pretty sure Hasselblad knows nothing about them.... but Sony does. So yeah, folks are probably right... Hasselblad is there to provide the name for marketing purposes and Sony is most likely actual sensor provider.

I have not seen real comparisons yet.
(not made by users who benefit from affiliate income)

I am just referring to a user who assumes that the brand name equals image quality.
That is not always true.

We'll have to see when real users (not paid via affiliate links etc. ) compare them.

I'd hold off,  IF you are using the P4P for mapping

I asked Pix4D when they might support the Mavic 2.......they don't know and went on to discuss the rolling shutter issue regarding mapping.  The P4P mechanical shutter is better suited for mapping duties.

The Mavic 2 series does not have a  mechanical shutter.

Do your research man.
