So what the deal with new Mavic 2 Controller, it looks just like the Mavic Pro current controller? DJI states they now support 1080p at 8Km, is this firmware that could be aplied on the MP. Will the same video lag issues that have been reported by so many?

The FAQ on the mavic 2 site says controller not currently supported but "at a later date".  I guess that means firmware.

There will be a second RC for M2P it will have its own screen, it’s not ready yet and I suppose known dji it will cost a penny or two, won’t be so bad if you can fly using two RC’s as this would be a great advantage, but we will have to wait and see.

Video lag issue on the MP? I have 80+ hours on my MP that was purchased in Sept 2016 and have never had such issue.

I'll second that statement.  

Im aware some people were getting it (Samsungs etc...) but a lot of us didnt experience any.  I didn't on either of my devices.

Same, I haven't experienced any transmissions issues at all.

I think the problem, and it's the same with a lot of product forums, is that it looks like 'lots' of people have an issue, when it's actually a tiny percentage - just keep that in mind!

Hi, I appreciate your time bringing this query to us. As of the moment, Mavic Pro and Mavic 2 Pro remote controller is not interchangeable. However, it will be possible soon. So please stay tuned. Thank you.

Thank You Natalia for the info. It Would be great if we could use the same controller on both Mavic pro/2. I would hope DJI would then offer just the Drone to save us a little cost to upgrade.

Also to clarify, the video lag is only present on Android  devices. I switched to a Apple Tablet to eliminate the problem. My Android Droid Maxx Frontier many other high end devices have the problem on later firmware, and had to roll back. I was told by a DJI Administrator that they are  working on testing to add more devices at a later date. Im sure they have  had a lot on their plate with the launch of two new platforms.

I would think the Occusync and Occusync 2.0 are not able to communicate together quite yet.......

It would be fantastic if Occusync 2 would be added to the existing MPs.

Agreed would be even better if its only a software update. Occusync 2 may be reliant of hardware.  I pretty sure Occusync compresses and un-compresses each way. This would really put more work on a already busy CPU.  And this my friends would cause more lag. Does anyone know how the Occusync works?

This is very exciting and I'm really looking forward to flying without  using a phone but it will probably be expensive like you said , Mavic Pro controllers currently sell for $299

Yes expensive, I think if screen is the size of a phone screen that would be great, I also read that original Mavic RC will be configured to use with M2P, not sure if you will be able to use both of these together, so wait and see.

In that video at the 2:45 mark he mentioned the new controller and says it will have a 5.5 inch high Bright display.
