I've been away from the forum for a bit, but I've been spending a lot of time in the air!!
This is an image from the mountains in Asheville, North Carolina

Pretty place. My wife and I spent 6 years in Tennessee and we used to go up to Gatlinburg/Cades Cove on the weekends.

It was a really great trip for me.  I've not been in the mountains in many years.  It was refreshing to see the world from up there again.

Always good to spend time over there.

You are right 3-D the work involved to make plans, preparation, flight and edit the video is incredible and with today's fast life / work it's even harder.

You live in a Beautiful Area Buddy ! I Love Nature myself, those mountains would be a dream to me to trek.

As a local Asheville pilot, I have to pass on that you should be very careful flying off the Blue Ridge Parkway.  It's a National Park and rangers will fine you and even take your drone.  I fly in the mountains around here all the time, because of course I do, the mountains are amazing, but beware ranger danger!

Yeah, I was aware of that while driving through, and was kind of disappointed that I wasn't going to be able to fly. We were talking about it in the visitor center and a Ranger actually told me i could take a "brief flight for photos as long as there were no objections from the people on the pinnacle"

I rushed up right after that before he could change his mind! - of course rushing up that trail (for someone out of shape) required a brief break once I arrived.
