Hello all, I am using an Osmo 1. I added a wired mic (brand unknown), but the audio is still terrible. Do I need a better mic? Does anyone have experience using the Osmo in loud club or party situations?

Thank you for providing a video. May I ask if where did you purchase the Rode Mic?

I bought it off Amazon. It sounds likr almost no difference from the built in mic.

I tried the link, but I get a screen that says "not available in your country."  Is this an error, or is it unavailable to customers in the U.S.?

Is there a -10 or -20db pad on the rode mic? You’re most likely overloading the mic amp on the Osmo  and getting distortion that way if it’s a loud nightclub

I think your solution is to record the audio on a device that is "designed" for recording audio, not merely "can" record audio. I find the OSMOS audio capabilities very poor no matter which mic you use. Its front end electronics are very easily overloaded and in a loud environment you are  on a 100% loser.

Ive been a studio sound engineer all my working life and have never found it to be even adequate for audio. The key here is -its a camera not a sound recorder.
