On my iPhone X I cant play any H265 Videos. Is this limited to the iPhone ? Or is this just Limited to the DJI App?
The DJI App is telling my I should use my PC to watch it lol

If I cant play it in H265 on the run its useless for me ;(

something else that I saw as well - if you set your DJI app to record in H265 and do a effect like "circle" is does record in H264 ! and not H265! so that's strange as well. Can you confirm DJI Tony

It has been confirmed from other users that they having the same problem.
We know that the iPhone can handle H265

Just got an update from our engineers that they do not have the  plan to download H.265 directly to the App on the mobile device for now  due to the fact that this feature requires high performance on mobile  phones. If there is such a plan in the future, we'll release on our  website at the first time. Appreciate your attention. You may connect  with PC to download the file for now.

Same with me.

All the iOS 11 iPhone supports HEVC MP4 video  playback including iPhone X, iPhone 8/Plus, iPhone 7/6s/6/Plus, iPhone  SE and iPhone 5s. Yet, how about 4K HEVC video playback? Not every iOS  11 iPhone supports now.  The specific HEVC resolution and frame rate  requirements are below:

            iPhone X, iPhone 8/Plus, iPhone 7/6s/Plus,  iPhone SE, with Apple's A9 chip or newer support most HEVC videos playback, up to 4K 2160p.
        iPhone 6 and  iPhone 6 Plus play HEVC  video, up to 1080p at 240 fps.
       iPhone 5s maximum ability for HEVC  video playback is 1080p at 60 fps or 720p at 240 fps.

Two strikes for me.  I can't playback on my iPhone X.  I have a CS I am waiting for a firmware update so I can use it with my M2P.

Hi, I was able to clarify this concern. There will be two files will be saved on your devices one is on your phone and the other is on the SD card the H265 will be on the SD card, meaning, the original would on the card itself and I'm afraid that it cannot be downloaded to the device. Sure let me try it again. There are 2 problems.

1st. If I select H265 I cant download the content to my iPhone (see picture above). It does work if I select H264! Just NOT with H265
2nd. If I select H265 and for example the Effect "Circle" it will be recorded in H264 and not in H265!

I shoot 4K 30 in DLOG H.265 and I’m able to import my videos into my iPhone X using the Lightning to SD card adapter. I can edit them with LumaFusion as well. No issues at all. I’m running the latest iOS 12 Public Beta.

I have the same problem downloading H.265 video to my iPad Pro. I’m using iOS 11.4.1 and DJI Go 4 4.3.0.

The ability to download H.265 video to my apple devices from my Mavic 2 pro is a absolute necessity for me. I really hope this gets fixed soon.

I have the original iPad Pro 12.9 and cannot view my H.265 files on that device but it’s no problem for my iPhone X.

Same Problem with h265 here: DJI App (IOS 4.3.3)  Ipad Pro (2.gen, IOS12).
Workaround with a SD-Card Reader like PhotoFast 4k iReader works for me ...

Same issue here. Importing these H.265 files into/onto the iPad Pro 10.5 with latest iOS 12 is still a royal pain.

I have to access them using a WiFi transfer from my iMac 5k using Documents (in App Store) and then importing into LumaFusion from within LumaFusion only. Native iOS playback or importing into Camera Roll doesn’t work.

Even once in LumaFusion, I get the message above any imported clips that it’ll cause issues. And when I make a cut, the clip turns into audio or something blank.

Not only that. h.265 is not watchable on the Crystalsky and will never be. And when shooting pictures in Hyperlight during darkness they are not in RAW DNG anymore but jpeg. Well you can't have it all on a consumer drone in this price range.

No it´s the way Hyperlight works. Probably cant process in RAW. But it looks really nice anyway!

the thing about hyperlight/panorama delivering only jpg is, that the onboard perfomance on the meavic is  to weak to handle this thread....
but if you want to edit dng just make sure, that u checked the options for saving dng + jpg for panorama a.s.o. and you´ll be able to download the dng from sd/internal storage...

since the iPhone 6S /7 you are able to view H265 files. Your software can do a precheck like if its better as an iphone 6 you can play those files ....

To inform you none iPhone or iPad doesn’t support codec h.265. I had the same problem and searched for the supported video from these devices and they only support h.264

no ... I got iPhone 7, X and XS here all 3 can play videos in H265 without any problems.

You are correct my bad while i was searching I didn’t see the hevc format.

Ok above I put that error with my imported files. Turns out it was the method of importing through the WD Wireless Pro drive.

Anyway, now I just put the card into the iMac 5k, drag & drop what I want to a folder right on the desktop... now from the iPad, I can completely view, edit, drag/drop anything on the computer via SMB. It’ll even wake the iMac if I browse it. Now the files work as they should (H.265 in LumaFusion).

You can do this with Windows, obviously, since SMB is a Windows “thing” anyway.

They should at the very least support H.265 capability checking, as more and more phones and tablets support H.265 (and has for some time), and most of us don't travel with a notebook anymore.
