You would have done better to put 120m at 2 since that equates to 400' which is the highest in U.S. allowed.  That way you get a percentage of who is legal and who has exceeded legal  (in the name of pioneering and science...or going "where no man has gone before" as in the name of trekking).  Also you should have a separate 500m and >500m as 500m is the max you can set in the Max Altitude window and >500 is that you've somehow bypassed the software limit.

200 Metres before the AU rules changed. They were 120 Metres / 400ft in controlled airspace and unlimited (Line of Sight rule) outside controlled air space. But now it is Global 120 Metres.

Hi Arif, this is a public site so the results and replies are visible to all. Though your intentions maybe be purely to get feedback from the users, it is just best to know your limits within your graphical location with is the legal norm to follow. Or if you are travelling, your destination country limits.

There are just to many issues about drone nowadays that makes hobbyist wonder if the laws will get tougher in the near future rendering the fun out of  drone flying.

Cheers mate have fun while the situation still permits.

To know, what the bird (of others) have achieved and to feel save, flying it 90-120m?

And when you post anything outside of your legal max, you're putting a nail in the coffin of our hobby. The FAA and homeland security read these forums and youtube and are making decisions on future legal limitations based on what they see the drone community posting as well as reported incidents.
Just last week a youtube video hit the headlines regarding a "legal" drone flight showing video of a helicopter passing within "dangerous" closeness to a drone. Those who argue about was it really that close; it was at legal altitude, all are moot points. The film was placed in public view showing a dangerous situation for manned aircraft.
Moral of the story is, quit posting obviously illegal or dangerous videos. The operator, right or wrong, they will be used against the hobby no matter what country your in.

This is not true....not sure why so many think this.  In the U.S., if flying recreationally only, you are covered under section 336 and there is no height limit.  There is however a visual line of site restriction.  If flying under Part 107 (commercially) then yes, there is a 400' height restriction.

Interesting point regarding height limit in US. The following is from :
https://www.faa.gov/documentLibr ... /AC_91-57A_Ch_1.pdf
The quote below from this leaves the 400ft limit as a grey area. Most have interpreted this as mandatory. Or is it?
"e. Model aircraft operators should follow best practices including limiting operations to 400 feet
above ground level (AGL).

If you cannot get to the maximum legal height based on your country location, do raise the issue for forumers to advise.

If you exceeded the legal height limit, pat yourself on your shoulder.

No accusation intended.  Mine is a general comment as no other poster considered that in their replies.  While you may fly over fields and valleys, a loss of control, high winds, loss of communication could cause an aircraft to drift/fly over an area that contains persons, animals, or buildings.

Ridiculous....?.... not really.  With an overcast sky it's really easy to lose sight of your aircraft when it's that high.

It is ridiculous. I cannot hit a building and a planes altitude is at least 2 kilometers, DJI drones are limited to 500m.
