Hello,

I am involved with a project to perform ground laser scanner and aerial photogrametry. The subject is a famous, historical location: Dealey Plaza in Dallas.

Being a total newbie, my first question is this: Which model is best for professional level photogrammetry?

Thanks,

I'd think something with the highest resolution possible.  If you're not versed enough to fly something like an Inspire 1/2, I'd go with a Phantom 4.  That'll give you the gimbal movement you need to capture the images you need in order to create the final product.  You could get away with a Mavic Pro, but You might have to fly sideways a lot, and that's not it's best flight direction.

Hello; I am new to this forum, and seems I am not able to open a new thread, so I took the chance in this, hoping someone can answer my related question.

My company has a Mavic 2 Drone (not Pro, just plain 2), is it possible to do photogrammetry with it? I already tried DroneDeploy and Pix4D, but the drone is not detected by neither application. Is it because no app supports Mavic 2?

Have seen tutorials with 2 Pro, but not "Mavic 2" withouth the "pro". Is that a reason, the 2 is not good for photogrammetry?

Thanks in advance.

The resolution on the Pro 2 camera is probably the best for the money and certainly outstrips the earlier version.

So far I have had good mapping results with the MP2 :

Good convergent coverage in appropriate lighting mixed with terrestrial coverage should work well.
I have tried to use frames sequentially split from video with mixed results: the frame reso is not as good taking stills.
