I always use the remote. I didn't even read the part about gestures.

Never ever tried without the remote.  I would be fearful for sure.

My RC doesn’t work

I only tried using it without the remote (using the phone) for the first time yesterday as i was hoping there was a way to get the AC to track the phone (like the Mavic), but sadly there isn't (that i could find anyway). Yeah, but if you're using a phone/tablet to operate your AC you seriously need to buy an RC, much better experience all round.

I tried gesture. Boring. I tried phone. Starting to get better, but still not quite right. I tried tablet. Bigger screen, but still no speed and no range. I tried remote. I ended my trying there. No way I’m going back (unless I accidentally destroy my remote )! Remote only and forever!

never had any issues with phone until lately, The app keeps crashing but have always used the RC and has saved me a few times. Besides more control with RC than phone.

Don't think i have ever used the phone as a controller!!

Yes, now I have the Fly More Combo

The only time I go without the remote is if I'm flying indoors. Otherwise, it's always with the remote.

Yes I do. Much more intuitive.

Remote always! Got the Fly More Combo and I've never even considered to fly without it.

I flew my first flight only with the phone and then the remote ever since.  

The reason i wanted one was so it could be flown with the remote so i always use the remote even when doing gesture mode just incase it does something i can still control it with remote. I hate flying drones with my phone.
