First day with the new Mavic 2 Pro. I am very satisfied with the image quality, but very disapointed in flight distance.

In Helsinki, suburb area (only small houses) I was able to reach 700-750m (2300-2450ft) distance when I got image transmission errors. I was able to pilot OK, but the image was cutting. No buildings in between, but some trees, when drone was ap. 50m (165ft) high.
I have iPhone 7+, WiFi disconnected, remote and drone updated, dual channel on, normal image quality selected.

Is there anything else I could do? I would of expected at least 1000-1500m (3300-5000ft) distance.

Its a mavic 2.  You can't.

I only have a spark. I read that the fake gps app trick works also on Mavic air apart from spark.
I mean you can try to do the fake gps app trick, it might work!
There are many videos on YouTube how to change from ce to fcc using fake gps app trick on Android.
Pease try and report back here if the switch was successful.

There is also the BOOST FCC 1.5Watts patch that only works on Mavic Pro 1on OcuSync,
And therefore it might be possible to install it on Mavic 2 also.

It won't work.  Firstly the Mavic 2 doesnt use wifi and secondly the versions of Go4 hacked for FCC are old.  The MP2 requires the latest Go4 which has not been cracked.

Fake GPS hasnt worked for ages on occusync.

And anyway that isnt the issue, he should be getting 5x that range under CE mode so clearly something else is wrong.  Simply hacking it to be illegal wont fix that.

Then I advise to try in a different area and maybe also try on another device.

as far as I know this is only for android and you have to mess around each time you fly,

I've flown to 6000ft over sea without issue on the Mavic 2 pro and based on the spec I would expect to be able to get further if there wasnt any interference.  However on another flight at 1200ft  I got break up of video due to the landscape (big hill in the way).

Make sure you have latest firmware installed and check antenna orientation if they are out straight you will limit your range.
Im in the UK so also CE and can easily get 2000mtrs without any messing about.

Check out the video for correct antenna position.

I confirm, also in Italy, in flight in the countryside reached 4000m, radio and video signal with 2 notches

Is it possible to increase signal with some reflectors? Or this just waste of time?

Windsurfers may give you a small increase in signal strength. Better to go to an aftermarket antenna like the Raptor SR or XR, the Titan Switch or half a dozen other manufacturers that make them. The antennae on the M2 are +3dB, going to a high dB gain antenna will increase your distance. Then there are boosted systems which can give you up to 3 watts of amplified power, but these are not normally dual band, which means you have to chose 2.4 ghz before taking off. I have the titan switch 3 watt amplifiers with +9dB whip antenna and I get full 5 bars signal on video and remote control at 5 km distance.

I have almost reached 3 km in a mountain area with signal Ok.

I found this topic because I was facing severe signal issues on MP2. I was flying close to the edge of a city, with houses close and got antenna related messages in about 300-400 meters. At that  distance I had around 2 bars of signal and didn't want to push it too far as that was not normal.

After I found the topic I tried another flight in an open field away from houses and easily got around 1Km with only 1 bar dropped. It would easily go farther, but I was OK with my result and didn't want to push it too far.  On that flight, I had put my phone & watch on airplane mode.

Anybody with signal issues, should try an open field with no trees close to the pilot's position.

Can I ask a stupid question.  Does it make any difference where you bought the Mavic2P?  For ex, if you buy it in Asia or US, does it by default apply the FCC standard?  Or does the DJIGo app auto detect which region you are currently at, and switch to local standard?

NLD has now released their support for the M2, including switching power modes.

Needless to say you should still strictly adhere to your local laws, many of which preclude flying outside line of sight, which is not far with such a small SUA.

It’s not a stupid question, it’s a valid one.
It doesn’t matter where in the world you buy the aircraft. The GPS automatically knows the region you are flying in. For example the same aircraft when flying in the USA will use fcc mode, then when in Europe will use CE mode.
