Has anyone figured out what the native iso is for the Mavic 2 pro? I assume it should be higher than the Mavic pro but not 100% sure. Thanks in advance.

I get that's the range.  What my question is in the original mavic pro if you go any higher then 200 iso you start to hit noise.  I was wondering what is highest I can get from the Mavic 2 Pro before noise is introduced.

Same here ! Would love to know the native ISO to get most of the dynamic range.

Why "obviously"?

Plenty of cameras have a higher base ISO and shoot under it.  Most DSLRs for starters.

The Phantom 4 Pro native iso is 500 for DLOG. The native ISO may very well be 400 or 500.

I think you guys are referring to the BASE ISO, which is the single ISO setting at which your sensor/processing pipeline produces its best signal-to-noise ratio and where the sensor can achieve its full dynamic range.
Im guessing 400 or 800 on this one.

Base ISO, native ISO, it's all the same I think.

For example, with my Ursa Mini 4.6k, ISO 800 gives the most balanced dynamic range between highlights and shadows. ISO 1600 gives more room in highlights, while ISO 200 gives more dynamic range in shadows.

I did tests taking photos of a grey card, and it seems that at ISO 200, the noise is already higher than at ISO 100, so selectable base ISO is, I believe, ISO100.
In auto ISO mode, the app selected ISO 120 though.

ahh that's quite a shame. Can you post some photos of your test.

Well, usually we have too much light and have to shoot with ND filters. So keeping it at ISO100 is not a huuuge deal. ISO200 seems acceptable, and in video, everything is different again because of the oversampling, compression etc.

I would also like to know what the base ISO for dlog-m is. It should be higher than 100...

Out of pure curiosity, I compared your RAW processed by LR ( no corrections ) and the same file stripped from the DJI profile by another program (no corrections). Some difference

There is also something to note.
When I imported all the RAWs from ygrabo to the software that removes all profiles. I've noticed that exposure is decreasing from ISO 3200.
Im assuming because maximum ISO for this sensor is 1600 and when shutter speed is getting faster the image is getting darker.

It looks like ISO 3200, 6400 and 12800 are basically ISO 1600 with increased exposure via profile ( extended ISO ).

It can open files without embedded profiles.

Handy if you want to see how much corrections were applied and gain some of the frame that is lost when the image is straighten. You have to correct it yourself afterwards though

I don't know what the native ISO is, but yes, in my experience you'll immediately get a greater noise floor going anywhere over ISO100.

None of that above webpage addresses the actual question - that of native ISO.

I don't think anyone has ever worked out what the native ISO is (or done tests to see).

Instinctively i'd guess its probably 400 purely because thats what the other known DJI drones (and most cameras) have.  But its never been confirmed.

What I would like to know is the Dynamic Range as well. Anyone know at what ISO is the sweetspot between highlights and shadows?

That basically *is* native ISO and nobody seems to know or been able to accurately test it.

Noise and grain has nothing to do with native iso.
