Enjoy your video. I am a sailor and explorer at heart and hope to capture video like that soon. I ...
Thanks for your note. You have a very nice boat indeed.
Regarding your question about moving boats, are you referring to launching from a moving boat or simply filming a boat while in motion. In this video i do both.
The catamaran was my launching platform for many of the shots over water in this video. Winds were pretty strong so we had to make sure the boat was idle before launching. I had a few close calls where the wind was picking up and i almost lost the Inspire because it was lifting without even applying any upward pressure to the controls. When i saw that, i simpky cut the power and waited a few minutes.
Landing however was another issue. Due to the limited space on the boat and the moving nature of the platform, i hand catched the Inspire each time. Tricky part is to manage the up and down movement of the boat as you are about to catch the Inspire. Pretty risky stuff.
Fornthe filming itself, I've been practicing a lot and have developed a pretty stable hand when it comes to filming a moving target while i circle around it. All i can say is practice makes perfect.
Hope this helps a bit. Best of luck to you and safe travels.
Cheers
