Here are some pics  of my Marco Polo RC unit on my M2Z,

Always flown with this unit installed on all my drones and never had to use it ”real-world.” Just for practice.

Hope this helps someone out?

Fly safe.

Hi there. Thanks for sharing that idea with us. However, we do not recommend to use any non-related DJI products to their drone because this can void the warranty of your drone. Please fly with caution. Thanks.

Interesting. I would have thought you'd have mounted it on top right in front of the battery. Does the weight have something to do with your placement? From experience, do you know of others who have been saved using this device over the "Find My Drone" feature?

There were no weight issues; I decided to put the Marco Polo tracker unit on the side of the battery because the top of the Mavic, I suspected has a GPS antenna or two. And I didn't want the tracker's antenna being able to hit any of the Mavic's propellors while in flight (if it were to bend). With it in the position I photographed it in, there is no way the tracker's wire antenna can hit any props or get in the way of any sensors.  I'm sure there are other positions that might work as well. I just picked that spot for those reasons. Hope that answered your questions.
And I understand, per DJI post-Natalia (administrator). No unofficial DJI products should be used on DJI equipment as it may VOID the warranty. (corporate CYA lingo)
