Looking for some guidance on minimum specs for a Micro SD card on the Mavic 2 Pro.

Per the MANUAL, it states "up to 128 GB and R/W speed up to UHS-I Speed Grade 3"

Per the WEBSITE specs, the recommendations are the following:
32G
Sandisk V30
Sandisk Extreme V30 Pro
64G
Sandisk Extreme Pro V30
128G
Sandisk Extreme V30
Sandisk Extreme Pro V30
Kingston

Is there a minimum read and write speed that is required for the Mavic 2 Pro? Or is any card that is "UHS-I Speed Grade 3" fully supportive of supporting the data write speeds needed for high quality video capture? Also, are there any cons of going with a Samsung card or non SanDisk Extreme Pro card? I've seen a review where the Samsung Evo Plus outperforms the SanDisk Extreme Plus, along with being quite a bit cheaper.
Link: https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/test-centre/storage/best-microsd-cards-2018-3640745/

Examples of cards all having the same stated speeds (all UHS-I Speed Grade 3):
1. 128GB SanDisk Extreme (up to 100 MB/s read & 90 MB/s write)
2. 128GB SanDisk Extreme Plus (up to 100 MB/s read & 90 MB/s write)
3. 128GB SanDisk Extreme Pro (up to 100 MB/s read & 90 MB/s write)
4. 128GB Samsung Evo Plus (up to 100 MB/s read & 90 MB/s write)
5. 32GB Samsung Pro Plus (up to 100 MB/s read & 90 MB/s write)

The Mavic 2 is able to write data at a maximum of 100 Mbps (or 12.5 MB/s). The memory cards you listed above should work well since they exceed that speed.

It assume it is like for Mavic Air for which I use the Sandisk 64GB Extreme Pro without any problems and have ordered the same for my M2P.

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. Regarding your question, all the Sd card that you listed will be supported as long as you have the branded SD card and class 10, UHS-1 or Higher would be fine then.

I use the same on Mavic Air which has the same writing/reading speed as the M2P and have no problems. Have you reformatted it with GO 4? If still not working it might indeed be faulty.

I take my drone on holidays and like to have many cards, that way I never have to worry about running out of memory. It's also a good idea to change cards often, rather than flying around with lots of data in the case of losing your drone. I have 3 types of cards.
This card is the best bang for your buck. A great all-round card and actually, I have 6 of them:
SanDisk Extreme 32GB microSDHC UHS-I Card - SDSQXAF-032G-GN6MA [Newest Version] https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06XWMQ ... p_tai_zGeJBbXP9PPKX

Also, I have one of these because it puts the data onto your computer at an insanely fast rate. It's the card I usually use, but too expensive to buy more than one of:
Delkin 64GB microSDXC 1900X UHS-I/UHS-II (U3/V60) Memory Card (DMSD190064GV) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01MZEA ... p_tai_qWeJBbD2EWK5X

And lastly I have one of these just because it comes with a handy dongle to put into my computer's USB. The dongle works with all of the above cards too:
Lexar Professional 1000x microSDHC 32GB UHS-II/U3 (Up to 150MB/s Read) W/USB 3.0 Reader Flash Memory Card LSDMI32GCBNL1000R https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00U77V ... p_tai_dVeJBb58SA9GY

My apologies. I'm from Canada, so the links I've posted probably take you to the Canadian Amazon site.

Isn't the 100Mbps speed the Live view Video stream maximum speed from Mavic Air or Mavic 2 to the Remote Control onto SmartDevice running GO-4?
Versus actual video stream speed written by Mavic Air or Mavic 2 to the microSD card in said drone?

Actual drone camera to microSD card - With 4k video at 30fps and H.264/5 compression pushing close to 320 Mbps or 40 MB/s.

UHS-I Speed Grade 3 is minimum write speed of 30 MB/s with speeds reaching 120 MB/s.

Checked out the sd card, very slow, must be a fake. Returned to Amazon for refund. Bought two 64Gb Sandisk Extreme U3 V30 cards again from Amazon (uk). These work fine. All sorted no slow sd warnings.

The one thing I think is overlooked is the write speed. The smaller cards have a slower write speed. Unfortunately, the first spec you read on the card talks about the read speed which has nothing to do with capturing 4k video. I have used several of the top brands and most do a good job BUT check the write speed. With cameras shooting at high bit rates and capturing 20+mb stills, it will be the most important spec. I like the 128gig cards for their performance but a good 64gig is a good compromise.

Just a quick question. I still used my older SD cards from my original Mavic Pro. I too get the message of slow SD, however I can record onto that card and offload the media with no problem. I don't see any quality differences compared to the internal storage. Files are UHD 100mb/s. I did order a newer 32GB card which will arrive today, but can I still use the older ones as a backup? I mean they seem to do the job just fine so far...
And one more thing: in UHD 30fps HQ, DLog, H.265 I can't go above ISO 1600. Shouldn't it be able to go all the way up to 6400?
Thanks

When I switch into 'none' color mode, I can select ISO 3200/6400. I can then switch it back to DLog and as long as I don't touch the ISO settings, it'll stay at ISO6400 even though the max on the slider says 1600. Is this just a bug in the app? Or was DLog never meant to be used above ISO 1600? It'd be quite odd imo.

Just a heads up. I purchased the Sandisk Extreme Pro V30 64GB from Amazon UK and noticed the warning symbol in the DJI app. Did a speed test on the card and it's writing at 10MB/s so unfortunately I think I've fallen victim to a fake.

They both worked without a problem, strange thing Amazon sent me an email two days later with a so called deal of the day, the Sandisk Extreme cards for £17.99 each.

You have to be careful on Amazon. Lots of counterfeits on there and it's annoying. There are free programs you can download that will scan it for you. I've had it happen to be before as well.

I dont believe the reporting - its reporting as "slow" on my existing cards which work perfectly on DSLRs and older drones. (Sandisk Extremes)
I tested them despite it saying unsuitable for 4k recording and they all work just fine.

I did order a new extreme PLUS as a test and that doesn't report as slow.  I think its the guaranteed minimum write speed rather than actual being tested hence the error.

So if you get the error, just test it.  You may find it works perfectly.

I bought the two Extreme cards from Amazon UK, the fake Extreme Pro card, was fulfilled by Amazon, and turned out to be from "Sold by: guojunjiededian". The new cards were "sold by Amazon". Next day delivery via Prime.

I have a Sandisk extreme v30 64gb as recommended and I am getting "slow sd error". Nuisance.

I don’t get error.  But I get a warning “slow sd card”.  It’s SanDisk Ultra 128gb.  I had extreme but I lost it.  Oops!  I was about to scoop up another extreme, but maybe it’s just a bug.  I didn’t have issues with the footage though.

I'm not sure how the M2 Pro and Zoom tests the compatibility of the installed Micro SD Card, but I'm wondering if it's checked against a U1 data tag thats present on the card as opposed to a real-time speed test.  The reason I say this is I've been using a Samsung Pro Class 10 UHS-1 card in my 2016 Mavic Pro with no issues, but when inserted in my Mavic 2 Pro the GO4 app says it's a 'Slow Card'.  But it's not, and it's faster than the newer Samsung EVO Plus Class 10 UHS-1 card that the Mavic 2 Pro accepts without any warning or error messages.

The expensive 2016 Samsung Pro card is 90MB/s Read and 80MB/s Write

The considerably cheaper 2018 Samsung EVO Plus card is 100MB/s Read and 60MB/s Write

Using a Mac and Blackmagic Speed Test I've tested the cards too and the older Samsung Pro definitely outperforms the Samsung EVO Plus.  What makes the M2P decide the older but faster card is a 'Slow Card' is a mystery.

I just tried one with my Mavic 2 Pro; and I get the two slow message.  Speed tests are showing 80 read/30 write.  It's a U1, so I think it's a nice card but not for the M2P.

What is the minimum write speed?  DJI are you listening?

After inserting the microSD card into the Mavic 2's microSD card slot and connecting turning on the Mavic 2, RC and DJI GO 4 app, you should see in the DJI GO 4 app camera settings an option to format the SD card then select the "Storage location". I didn't saw any warning about storage space, or low speed. The 256GB microSD card works as expected.

The card's storage is shown as 252GB after formatting.

Don't get confused by the microSD cards speed class. UHS-II cards are backward compatible by falling back to the lower speed interface UHS-I (which is the native interface of the Mavic 2).

I picked this microSD card because it has a wider temperature operation range compated to the Mavic 2. If something goes wrong (temperature wise) then I still get all the data - if I can find my Mavic 2.
