I believe I'm going to preorder these filters by Polar Pro http://polarprofilters.com/shop/DJI-Phantom-3-Filter
It says it's going to add a max of 4.24grams to the camera. What is everyones thoughts (including DJI) on the extra weight on the gimbal? The thought being the motors are constantly holding the extra weight up.

Thanks for your input!

Well... It's not adding 4.24 grams of mass to the front of the camera because you REMOVE the existing UV filter thats screwed on right now and replace it with the new filter.  I unscrewed the UV filter from my Phantom 3 Pro and it weighs about 2.5 grams.  (Not sure my scale measures accurately at such small weights.)   So according to my scale the net change in weight would be 1.74 grams.

I doubt it's a significant. issue.

Actually, I accounted for that. The new filter is almost 6 grams.

I just checked posts for the P2V+ and the P2+GoPro because they have made filters for those crafts for quite awhile. Check this post out. It talks about counter acting the weight with velcro and a coin (or two)

I used gel filters.  (Roscolux .09)  I simply unscrewed the front clear filter and cut a piece of Roscolux ND .09 to fit.  Screw the original ND back on.  I doubt it added 1/2 of 1 gram.  Works fine.  Just be careful cutting the gel.  It scratches easily.

a lump of blu_tack works as well, easy to put on and take off, suprisingly heavy as well.

Actually their specifications say the ND's are only 3.75 grams.  I don;t think it's a major issue.  I plan to order some and try it.  I can always add some weight to the back of the cam to balance it.
