Just to keep the pressure up ;)
Is there anything more known about the new controller?  When will it be ready, what kind of buttons/scrollwheels are on there, and most important (for me anyway), will it be compatible with the mavic 1?
Any admin who can give some answers?

I'm also hoping it will come soon. But I'm also curious if how the scrollwheels work, are they like the Mavic 1, or like the 2

I would love something like this. I absolutely hate using my phone as part of my controller.

Hi, thanks for reaching DJI Forum. We do appreciate bringing this query to us. We don't have any information yet if there will be a new controller with a built-in screen for the new Mavic. But rest assured that if there's any it will be cascaded soon thru our website. Thank you for choosing DJI. Have a safe flight always.

It will probably have Wi-Fi I guess, that's the easiest way. Also to update the app

I think this will be exclusively for the mavic 2 series.

The convenience is there with a integrated unit but:

I think an iPad mini or similar is still the better solution with wifi and cell data service and being able to run all third party software.

I'd love to see one.  It changes the dynamic of the Mavic of being 'portable', but it's already not that portable when I travel with the case and extra batteries.  Sure, it's more portable than a Phantom, but it still requires strategic packing.  The question that I have is, are users willing to pay $300-$500 for a remote?

@Alex B.
The mavic 1 remote will be compatible with the mavic 2 on the future, so I hope for the best.
@jimmylee, I do have a tablet, but it kinda sucks. I would love a integrated screen. Also because I don't have the usb cable anymore, on a tablet it isn't nice, imo.
And most users have a "dedicated" device, without any other apps on there, so I think that it is a good solution.
@El Kabong, they will also buy a CS with all the additional stuff, so I think they will, if it is around 300 I know I will...

I know I'd seriously consider one at the $399 price point.Given that the CS is already close to $500, I'd suspect it would be somewhere around there instead.  Still a bit rich for my taste for a remote with a monitor, but considering that I was going to by a new iPad Mini 4, it's almost a wash.

Personally I think that DJI is postponing the realease of the new controller with a built in screen,
Because they are fixing all the bugs and glitches that it has,
As it’s android based and DJI app works much more stable and overall just better on iOS.

This will only do well if DJI builds it so it can work with future drones in the roadmap.  If they make it only to be used with the Mavic2 that will fail.  At that point you are better off buying the Crystal sky for future use with you next drone's controller.

The mavic 1 remote should be compatible with the mavic 2 in the future, so it should be for both drones. And who knows, maybe the air will be compatible too?

Buying this, we would end up owning 2 remotes for 1 drone. Hope the M2P will allow both remotes to connect at the same time. This would allow for a co-pilot (photographer) and a pilot.

For maximum sales this controller should be backwards compatible with Mavic Pro, Mavic Platinum and Mavic Air.

At least disconnects cannot be blamed on the cable and USB sockets

Just watched the video and page of the mavic 2 Enterprise, and noticed something…
Everywhere they show the normal controller, except on 1 picture:

This looks not like the normal RC imo?
The antenna`s are different, and the side/top of the remote looks different aswel

Looks very cool. I doubt it will be compatible with the MP1 given that the 2 series uses Ocusync 2.0 which is why the RC's are not interchangeable.

RC's will be compatible they told us, and maybe we get ocusync 2 on the 1 also?

I think an iPad mini or similar is still the better solution with wifi and cell data service and being able to run all third party software.

and lets face it.. if you keep the drone even for 4 years.. that screen is outdated and you will have likely upgraded you 'phone' or 'tablet' twice perhaps more...

just step into any car that is more than a couple years old and your like.. wow that sat nav looks like a '80s nintendo ..

not to mention everyone has a phone... why pay more for a controller when you already have a device in your pocket that can do double duty

now for professionals that use the equipment daily, professionally, perhaps its a win... but I doubt it...

if you use a separate crystal sky you can match the size for the portability you need and replacing a screen that goes bad on a built in controllers is going to be expensive.. as is the whole remote...

IF it makes it past the bean counters and sees the light of day it likely won't be a revenue generator and will be short lived
