The other day I flew my drone. Kept it close as it's 2nd hand and I don't know any details about it
After a few minutes I list signal but instead of going to rth it just went down where it was in the air and hit a tree.
I'd been getting no signal errors before.

Were you flying with DJI GO? If so, you can find the TXT file on your mobile device by following these instructions.

What height was set for RTH? I think it was too low.
What air craft and software version???

We have the professional data analysis team who would do their best to find out the crash reason and then the corresponding resolution would be provided, thank you.

How far is "Kept it close"?   It will just auto land if closer than 65 feet from the home point.

Hi all. It was about 75-100 feet away. But my first few flights testing were straight up about 55 feet and it landed exactly where it took off, maybe obviously!?
It was set to 30m. I didn't want to go to far this early while testing.
I use the dji app just for the picture which also when recording has black 'dots' randomly appearing in recorded video.
I'll need to check what firmware it is later.

Nothing really on light.
But when it started to land then crash was when app said 'no signal' error it something like that.

Did you land the drone on top of you? ..

no need you can check in the app , main menu /about

I managed to get this. Got to rth hieght but landed wrong.

According to your flight log, the remote controller signal was lost when your Phantom was flying at 98 feet over top of the home point. After 3 seconds, it started auto landing at its current location (since it was already at the home point). When the remote controller reconnected, you steered the Phantom over top of the house and into the tree.

As msinger pointed out,  you were making movements with right stick.  You may have not even realized you were in the heat of the moment.

I wasn't aware I was moving it and didn't think I did as my controller was disconnected.it was over the top of the house before signal went. It was auto landing near the tree I didn't land it.!

I was kind of panicked when it auto landed so probably moved sticks then but.....
