Most photographers worth their salt know that their precious adjustable aperture lenses have a "sweet" spot the produces their most tack-sharp photos. We tend to have that number on speed-dial in our heads and almost instinctively dial it in. Has anyone found the sweet spot yet on the M2P? I am primarily going to be using mine for aerial photos and not video, so this would really help me out.

Thanks!

(Edit: Focal Length for aperture... I shouldn't post late at night.)

I did a very extensive test for f2.8, f4, f5.6, f8 and f11, at varying ISO values and shutter speeds.

It was so windy on the day that most images below 1/160 were soft around the edges.
There was noticeable jitter around the frame as the camera was pointed down to get everything as close to the focal plane as possible.

To answer your question, f4 to f5.6 appeared to be the sharpest, if anything f8 to f11 didn't make too much of a difference.

Focal lengths are constant on this drone (unless you’re speaking about the zoom).
However, apertures aren’t and I find the best image quality was f2.8-5.6. Can’t wait for ND filters from DJi to be in stock because F8 or F11 the quality is bad.

Thank you all for your answers (and for correcting my late night mistake of switching focal plane and aperture)!

I did the tests as well.

Basically f/4 about wins it BUT its near the same at f/.8.
f/5.6 has slight degradation but very little.

It starts to lose at f/8 and is awful by f/11 due to diffraction.

I put the images here at various apertures:-

Great to know. It’s interesing to see that there are similar trends to standard camera lenses.
The middle apertures are usually the best.
