What is the Mavic 2 Pro maximum above ground altitude?  
I took it out for a maiden flight and it seemed to hit max at 3xx feet, I assumed that was because of some terminal control area for an airport some distance away.


How high have you guys been able to take your Mavic 2s?

Thats horrible, Mavic 4 Pro was way higher. Why would this model have such a different limitation?

That's the rule of FAA. Everybody has to follow the role.

What if you are in different countries?  Does it change?  I was in Canada but fairly close to US border.

US, as most countries  is 120, CAA is 90 meters according to the New Drone Regulations In Canada:

The rules, which are effective immediately, will mean recreational users will face a fine of up to $3,000 if drones are caught flying:
Higher than 90 metres,
Within 75 metres of buildings, vehicles or people.
At night.
Within nine kilometres of somewhere aircraft take off or land.
Without contact information marked on the drone itself.
Over forest fires, emergency response scenes or controlled airspace.

The M2P is by default configured for a max height a 120 meters, but this can be changed in the general settings. I configured mine with a maximum height of 150 meters, as it is the maximum currently allowed in France.
But it may be useful to set it at a higher value, as the height reported by the Mavic is always relative to the point from where it took off, and not relative to the actual ground under it. So if you took off from a valley, and then fly over a hill, you may want (or even need) to fly higher than those limits, without violating any regulation. The inverse applies if you took off from the top of the hill...

I have it set at maximum now(500m), because I was flying in the mountain. Imo it is still not high enough  because when I want to go over a mountain, it is not possible because it is higher than 500m above the point I flew from. But hey, at least I could make some nice pictures from this height
