So whats the difference? I thought the P3 simply used the 9450 props so I ordered a couple of sets last week. Now what looks to be the same props appears on their store (same part #) but at a difference price point (ambiguious if its for a pair or not) and listed seperately for both the P2 & P3.
Whats the deal? Will the ones I just received work on the P3? Don't want to fine out there is any difference or incompatibility while in flight....
Phantom 3 props have composite hubs. You should not use 9450 props with metal hubs.

Metal hubs are stronger but composite is slightly easier for the motors to spin giving 30 seconds longer flight.. I can't see why the hub would make a difference in any other aspect. P3 has motor breaking but so does the e310 propulsion system that the $15 prop set was designed for in the p2 version 3.. We have to find away to ask dji what the real world difference is
I think the composite ones grip better than the steal ones which are more precise and probably come loose easier with the phantom braking. You don't want a pop falling off in flight...
If they are DJI manufactured
NOT according to several DJI employees. The length of the screws on the P2 can impede the motor on the P3
Until they are re-engineered I'm not using them.
If you look at the DJI website, they do present two different "9450" prop sets, one for P2V+ and one for P3, with the only apparent difference being the metal vs composite hubs. Question is what difference does it make?
I can't find the post by Tahoe Ed, but I believe he was indicating the braking of the P3 could cause the metal hub of the P2 props to slip with chance they could come off.
(refering to them mounted on a P3)
The metal hub "slips" easier than the composite hub.
So lets act like aviation technicians and not try to re engineer these things . JMO
I bought and received 4 each $6 / pair sets from DJI shortly after they started offering them. The ones I bought were the red tipped 9450 plastic construction. They are what I've been flying my P3A with the past two weeks and they work just fine. You can tighten and loosen them by hand with no problems at all. Good value - just wish the shipping was a little less $$.
DJI probably sold all the blue and red tipped versions of these since I got mine. They offer solid white only now. The same profile model 9450 is available for the P2 series, but they are more than twice the price of the P3 blades.
