I heard the dji mavic pro lose connection so often to the phone and there's a lot of issues where even though you're flying in a big park with nothing interfering with the drone you still get those warnings what are your experience guys with the drone and do you recommend it?

I only had lost connection on both my Mavic's less than half a dozen times and I had a lot of flight between the two of them.

The mavic is a very stable and dependable drone and it has a better connection than my Inspire 1 that I had.

What happen when you lose connection to your phone how do you gain control back? what do you do. Sorry i am noob when it comes to these stuff.

Don't be sorry.  Always glad to help a noobie, I have my AC set to automatically RTH when it looses connection which you can set to that and that is my recommended setting.  Mavic is the best platform DJI has to offer.

Is there any reason why it loses connection? what about the flyaways those flyaways really scary. and its keeping me away from buying one. But the problem i really want one lol.

I never had a flyaway and I always fly in an urban are.  Make sure you always have enough satellites before you take off.  Now go and buy that Mavic and have fun!

I have not had a Flyaway.  But I have experienced Remote Controller disconnecting from SmartDevice that is running GO-4 App.


Last times RCs disconnected from SmartDevice, only way I could get RCs reconnected to SmartDevice was to power off, then back on RC.  From repair reports first RC had a bad Main Controller board, as did second RC.   I am now on my third RC, not as of yet tested since I am waiting for Mavic Pro Platinum to get back from repair.


Previously when RCs did disconnect from SmartDevice, I could still fly Mavic Pro Platinum.   Granted at distance, little hard to tell Nose from tail.  On power cycle of RC, automatic RTH triggered, and Mavic Pro P, flew back (no flyaway) and landed within in inches of takeoff point without problems.

Honestly, the Mavic Pro is very stable, I only lost connection to this drone maybe 5 times or so out of just over a 100 flights, most of the time the connection is lost between Rc and phone which is attributed to the poor usb cable quality

After 26 hours of flight time i will say to you go and buy it without any thoughts.Mavic pro is a really stable drone i had maybe 3-4 disconnections but still you are able to control the drone.The range of this drone is amazing i was many times also in urbal areas with pretty solid signal.

I'm also pretty new to this but clocked 5hrs now with it. I had only one incident where the mavic was irritated by what appears to be a high power antenna cluster but was able to land it more or less safely (nothing broke - that bird can take quite a beating ).

It works with Ocusync and it’s by far dji’s best system , this aircraft is for radio signal exceptional.
It has really improved a lot with FW .400, and we see very few complaints around here, which is a good sign that New FW is working well.

While I have had a few video dropouts, I simply land, grab another usb cable and take off again.  Solves the problem for several months.

say Suren my usb cable I use is the one that came with the Apple mini 4, now it's way too long so I am looking for one that would be about  a foot long, any suggestions?  Thanks.

there is a small one from apple (0.5m) that works perfectly. i would go for an apple original cable.

Hey Jack, Barkeeper below gave a good option, I use my original apple cable for flying and have it strapped together in a small roll to make it small

Thanks Suren, you probably got the same kind as I, but I will look at a smaller one, I do have a good one for my phone but I prefer using my Ipad,  after a while the cable gets dirty and twisted, it's a white one and about 3 feet long, so I'll be looking for a shorter one just for flying the drone.  fly safe Suren,  and yes I'm staying away from that cell tower lol.

the thing is Suren the tower is right near my place on the highest point..

Never had problem.

Mine loses it starting at 1200’ away at 300’ altitude flying over water, did the updates and everything else I could think of
