Have a Matrice 600 Pro that uses RoninMX, X5, and Z30 gimbals.
Thinking of converting S1000 to LB2 & A3 Pro and thinking this would recognize the same gimbals as M600Pro.
Electronically, they would be the same, and only Electric power & Motor layer would be different which isn’t directly associated with DJIGo App.

Has anyone upgraded the S1000 or S900 to LB2 & A3 Pro? Did you gain newer features, gimbals, etc?
How was it identified in DJIGo app? Would this be seen as a M600Pro since it’s the only current platform with this configuration?

I've recently added the Lb2 and A3, in frame selection is just a Hexacopter. So it shows as a Hex, Not an M600.

While you will see in places that this allows compatibility to all Zenmuse gimbals, that's not entirely accurate, you basically have a single gimbal adapter choice, and that's the mount for the M600, that basically allows you to use the X Series Zenmuse, X3, X5, etc

But all functions seem to work pretty flawlessly via dji-go.

Thanks for the update, and with future exploring it does allow you to mount any Gimbal the M600Pro can mount: RoninMX, Z30, X5. The RoninMX allows basically any full or MFT size DSLR or similar size cinema cameras. The Z30 accepts the Z30 Zoom, XT2, and I think the X4S...but would be same as M600Pro. The X5, as you indicate it allows the XT-R, X5, X5Raw, Z3, X3.  So it's overall pretty flexible and all through the DJIGO App & Screen.

Not exactly.  I have confirmed with DJI support that M600 P supports XT2, but A3 cannot. A3 is for DIY setup.

Interesting, we have a minor conflict in provided information. I’ll test in future after acquiring a XT2. I had DJI support Tech check with his Sr Eng and reported back the A3 Pro LB2 setup In S1000 would be identical to the available cameras on the A3 Pro LB2 M600Pro as long as you mounted the same gimbal mounts: X5, Z30, RoninMX. No difference limited within FW, it’s not 3rd party, all DJI. The only caution DJI Engineer expressed was the S1000 would not by default accept the gimbals physically and would be up to the Owner to correctly fabricate the appropriate mounting and they didn’t directly support any physical modification.

I just meant XT2, which is not supported by the separate A3 or A3 Pro.

Actually that's not an unknown, have you verified S1000 A3 Pro LB2 with Z30 & XT2?  I realize the DJI web site indicates only the XTR with the X5 Gimbal for the Matrice 600 Pro. When using the Z30 Gimbal, the XT2 does work with Matrice 600 Pro and the M600Pro is a A3 Pro LB2 electronics. The XT2 works within the DJI app and is fully controllable as normal and video stream within the Screen as normal. The Matrice 600 Pro is a A3 Pro LB2 unit and the installed A3 Pro LB2 isn't modified for the M600Pro, you can move any A3 Pro LB2 component from an M600Pro to S1000 A3 Pro LB2 unit or the S1000 to the M600Pro, I've done this when trouble shooting a M600Pro A3 Pro with a failed GPS Compass issue. It's not the M600Pro FW that accepts the XT2, it's the A3 Pro LB2 FW.  Logically, what's electronic on the M600Pro that's not within the A3 Pro LB2 electronics? There isn't additional electronics bewteen the Gimbal & A3 Pro LB2, the additional electrical layer is power & power interface. I'd assume the M600Pro FW uses the same programing code as the A3 Pro LB2 with the additional code for the power interface for battery & ESC operations. The only reason a seperate A3 Pro LB2 would not support the same devices as the M600Pro would be if the FW was "specfically written to exclude" since the power interface layer isn't part of the gimbal & camera logic. Since the Z30 camera does run on a S1000 A3 Pro LB2 build, that indicates the FW didn't exclude the Z30 camera and indicates when M600Pro FW is updated to include the Z30 camera, the A3 & LB2 FW apparently gets updated indicating it may be the same code module under the covers.

Will it work on a S1000 using the same electronics, that I'm not 100% sure... Yes it's seperate A3 Pro LB2, but DJI also stated it wouldn't work with M600Pro until someone tested it and reported back to DJI. The DJI App runs and recognized the seperate A3 Pro LB2 on the S1000; the Z30 camera was indicated as not compatible with the S1000 "seperate" A3 Pro LB2 and it runs on a S1000 A3Pro LB2 in the same manor as on the M600Pro, so I'd assume if the XT2 is supported within M600Pro A3 Pro LB2 coding, it "may" work with the S1000 A3 Pro LB2 in a similar fashion; It'll need to be tested to verify.

The issue isn't fitment or the A3, the issue is that the Mount, on certain series cameras or the S Series for example the X5s, for inspire2, is different the the X series, and the reason for this is that certain Craft, like Inspire 2, has it's image processor built into the Inspire 2, so I'm not sure where the info that the A3 is the Issue, anything that the M600 does, can be done with a DIY A3 setup, it's the exact same setup, the only thing different "electronics wise" on a DIY s1000 or S900 to an M600 is, how the battery information is uses, Which is handled through the Power Distribution board on the M600, in essence, it uses an SMBUS, Making the M600 6s Batteries into a 34,200mah craft. Hopefully, DJI releases the necessary cables to use smart cells for DIY.

This is direct from the spec page.

Great input, but the issues in this post are gimbal mounts & A3 / LB2 software FW.
The issue in this case is A3 Pro & LB2 software (FW) vs M600Pro FW. The issue isn't the mount and the I2 being compatible with X5S wasn't part of my question or discussion.  The M600Pro will not accept the X5S in it's selection of cameras but NOT due to physical mount, but FW Logic and thus the S1000 A3\LB2 will not either.

My question, which I've indirectly resolved through discussions with DJI and other shops was if the M600Pro is based on the A3 Pro & LB2 FW (as indicated less the power supply layer) and physically & logically connects the RoninMX, X5, and Z30 Gimbal mounts and logically allows the M600Pro to mount X3, X5, X5Raw, XT Thermo, Z3 and the Z30 Zoom cameras... could a S1000 A3Pro\LB2 logically accept the same gimbals & cameras; the answer is Yes.

In addition as a side thought I expressed in a different thread, I questioned if the Z30 gimbal would logically permit connectivity of the X4S on the M600Pro since the gimbal mount does physically accept the Z30, X4S & X5S. The conclusion was the M600Pro FW was NOT written to accept the X4S (or X5S), so that would also mean the same for any S1000 A3Pro\LB2 buildups.

The I2's internal image processor reserved for the X5S isn't questioned in this design build. I don't recall any question on the A3 \LB2 setup using the X5S ? Although just to stipulate, the X5S does not require the additional coprocessor within I2; the M210 can use the X4S or X5S without the additional processors and I believe if you don't purchase the DNG & Apple ProRes licenses the I2's internal coprocessors are not utilized or turned on for the I2 X5S.

With various testing, an additional camera was shown as being supported on the M600Pro with the Z30 Gimbal that was expressed not compatibly by DJI originally. The XT2 Thermo was verified to work with the M600Pro. The XT & XT-R worked with the X5 Gimbal and the XT2 with the Z30 Gimbal. That brought the question up if it would logically connect with S1000 A3Pro\LB2 and the answer so far has been a clear NO; although I haven't read if anyone has actually tested.

That indicates the FW of the M600Pro A3Pro\LB2 is different providing 1 additional camera option compared to the A3\LB2 FW.  As expressed above, the FW is probably the same with 1 section of code (module) written for the M600 exceptions or additions to the core A3Pro\LB2 hardware. The XT2 Thermo working within M600Pro FW and not A3\LB2 FW indicates the code was written to accept the M600Pro within the FW... most likely for product & market focus: ? allow older platform to use new cameras vs purchase new platform? It could easily be included in the allowed camera options since the electronics are exactly the same, it's software prevented.
