Had an important commercial shoot Sept 22, documentary Netflix.  CinemaDNG was there but the choice for DLOG (flat image) was gone in 6K...only choice was Raw.  How can this happen?  Result was footage looked like REC709 !

From my understanding, RAW is RAW. There is no log profile you can shoot on the X7 in RAW. Log is only available in H.264/5 and ProRes.

"footage looked like REC709" is wrong if you recorded RAW. May be the SD received a "REC709" H264 image, but in your SSD you have the CINEMA DNG image with plenty of room for postproduction. The only time you need D-Log in your SSD is when you´re recording PRORES

Just checked my footage in Raw with current firmware vs raw shot on 14-04-2018. The looks are similar. So think you're good.

Raw IS raw. However raw "profiles" can differ, and be applied differently across various color/editing programs. The previous Log look for C-DNG was one such profile, and you must see it as not how the Raw file is encoded, but rather, a Metadata set of instructions for how the raw converter should see the file. (it has no impact on the actual data stored in the Raw file). I believe DJI has gone, with the introduction of apple ProRes Raw, to a system that allows you to convert  the Raw image to D-Log in your coloring program. This apples to C-DNG as well. If you go to the download page for the x7, you'll see a raw to d-log conversion LUT, along with a d.log to rec.709 LUT. These can be used in combination in Resolve. Not sure if Premier will let you apply it as well.

Excellent explanation.  Thank you so much!
