Both sides of the coin are buggy !!! So we have a freaking problem and we need to stop flying till they fix both sides, good implementation of a flying camera but bad finish in my opinion.

I install this new firmware , but not, the problem is the same.

When satellites is ZERO, all smooth, but when satellites is 8 or more, a lot of lag and pauses.

If a put my hand over the GPS and SAtellites down to ZERO, the smooth comes back.

The problem is not solved.

Esto es para la comunidad hispana.......... DJI miarma, a ver cuando coño arreglas esto, que encima sacas un firmware que no arregla na, de hecho lo que se supone que arregla a nadie le habia fallado.

O sea, te dice un tio, o dos, que a ellos el video se le, graba mal, y le sacas un parche a ellos, y tienes aqui a 50 tios quejandose del lag, y no les das solucion.

Coño, al menos que en este fimware que acabas  de sacar, deberias haber desbloqueado la opcion de volver atras y dejarnos hacer un downgrade de los cojones.........

Nada, a ver si tenemos suerte y esta semana sale otro firmware, por que vamos, el 1.1.6 y el 1.1.8 que salieron con dos dias de diferencia y sin un simple changelog para leer........ que contendrian ??????? sospechoso al menos........

Y encima aqui mi colega el que trabaja para DJI, lleva tres dias probandolo y no dice ni mu, el cachondo.........

La proxima vez os voy a comprar un carajo bien gordo ( a ver si esto ultimo lo podeis reproducir en vuestro sistema, no como el lag...)

That's because it's not the Apple platform that is the problem, it's the Android Platform!

That's not quite true, I have seen posts from people in this thread stating that their iPad minis also had issues. Also see post 432 that i responded to in my response above. I am NOT saying there is no issues with Android, but knowing if ALL IOS devices are impacted, or none or a few (and in that case which ones) might help troubleshooting.

Sorry Mr. Wonka, IT IS NOT A THERMAL ISSUE, If it was, there would be a problem with 1.1.8!!! Now it could be a problem If the coding of the firmware or the Pilot App. AOS , whether its Kit-Kat or Lollipop is not the Issue either. It's up to the Application developer to wright there programs to work within the AOS version, ON ALL DEVICES!!

When i turned it off CPU load during flight with 12 satellites dropped from 85 to 55% !!!!!!!!!!!
This is workaround, not solution, but it might make you able to fly.

Correction:
They are not working, but you can run DJI app with Google Play Services turned on, after running DJI switch to app manager and then disable them. And you will have a maps and low cpu usage.

Friends, left your tablet like a Zombie, is not the solution.

This problem caused by DJI´s firmware 1.1.9, must be solved by the same DJI.

ok just checked something the dji pilot app on my galaxy note 3 lte uses a max op 47 % with liveview on and 11 sats locked
there is no way this is possibly a issue  with cpu load
no mather what i do in the app it will never go above 47 %

made some cpu graphs even that show the load during app usage

Tested right now. Indeed, it helped a little, but sometimes... i get stutter again.. but is much better. I can see in cpu monitor that before cpu was like 96% and after disabled play services I get 82%... But the CPU consumption increases as much gps it gets.. so strange..

Other problem is google play services IS NEEDED for a tablet work properly as a tablet...

Now i am sure the problem is somerwhere between GPS, maps and google play services.. because google play services allows maps to work properly.
Iam very curious how this would work on 1.1.8 firmware and.... latest google play services.

No, the problem always be the firmware.

This new firmware was made before dji know the error. Tahoe said that he was testing this firmware 3 days ago, then this firmware was developed minimun a week ago...... then DJI not admits the lag problems.......

This firmware is for fix another problem, not for fix the lag.

I suppose that tomorrow or a few days , a new firmware will be launch........

not realy worried about the memory usage its a prety big app so this is bassicly the entire app running in system memory
the resources used by this app should not be a big problem for any  decent smartphone made in the last 2 years.

a change i did notice with the old pilot app and the new is that in the old one you could set video link quality in the new one that option was removed.
maybe link quality is set to high by default now ?

New firmware could be correlated with new version of google play services.

When i downgraded to 'stock' google play services the cpu overload gone. But it will not giving me good information, because downgraded google play services not working as they should, i think.

Thats why i wrote about 1.1.8 and latest google play services.

Just home from work and anxiously waited for the P3A and my controller to update.  As it was updating, I started to read this thread and my hopes of an FPV lag fix in this version of FW quickly faded away.

The upgrade went as planned, but a quick test showed the lag was still prevalent and  seems to start sooner than it did using 1.1.8...

Come on DJi, get your act together. I am tempted to email customer support and get a refund.

In whole respect and sorry for language, but we waiting 3 weeks for update, and today, things goes only worse: Please do not give me a shit.

My device is much faster than supported devices, and it worked FINE, even on 1.1.9 firmware.
I have 2 GB of ram with 4 core Atom 1.9GHz processor. It is new and modern device (lenovo Tab S8-50 ). I have no any bloatware, I removed any useless software.
And after running DJI pilot app my RAM is consumed only in 55%.

On 1.1.9 firmware i have ~75% CPU usage with GPS and about 11 satellites, but fortumantely without lags and stuttering. Only standard about 200ms delay.

Now, on 1.2.6 firmware I have 85-90% CPU usage with GPS and about 11 satellites, and i have got stuttering and lag issues sometimes, it is less smooth that was. It is worse than ever.

My Tablet is working fine on boosted 1.9 Mhz, there is no throttling and overheating.

More satellites = more problem, bigger CPU consumption and bigger lag. Without sattelites i have 55-60% CPU usage on tablet.

When You fix that?

Thank you for contacting DJI. Have you checked out the actual video source to see if it is stuttering or is this more of an FPV issue? Please make sure that the mobile unit you are using has the latest operating system as well as 3 gigs of ram open in memory. Also, refer to the Specs link to make sure that you are using a compatible device: http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-3/spec

You also may want to try to record at a lower playback setting to see if this helps with your current issue.

Your Community is waiting two weeks for fix.

This is real probelm, all of phantom 3 drones are grounded, people cannot use camera for flying.

One of user crashed his phantom because of that.

Issue exist ALSO on SUPPORTED devices such as Nesus 7 2013, Note 3 and Nexus 9. It exist too on high (much more powerful than devices on supported list) end Galaxy S tablets.

Problem appeared after 1.1.9 firmware

Phantom 3 is your flagship product and this is great product, but it was broken my 1.1.9 f/w

Dear DJI, please make Your statement and assure community you are aware this problem and you working on fix.

We cant fly at now.

I think dji customer service is completely overwhelmed, look at this latest firmware update as far as I can see it did nothing. The p3 should have never been released yet.  Customer service has no answers because there are none. My p3 has telemetry problems says its 50 or 60 feet higher than it is, video lags, I haven't even bothered to call, I know it will do no good .  Probably going to dig vision plus out and charge up batteries and go fly,  Top it all off with lollipop, should be called lolliflop, lolliflop is the android version of Windows ME or Windows Vista. What a mess.  Here is what I dont get,  The inspire has been out almost a year,  Are Inspire owners having these same problems can someone answer this for me ? Is Dji collapsing?

I also have iphone 5s, video starts stuttering after a few minutes and phone gets hot hot hot. Doesn't always happen, inconsistent but it's a pain

I don't understand - why does that bottom black screen show 80% and lots of memory use by all the google apps?

At 80% you will likely have some problems - in my experience.

Here is the update.  There is no update.  DJI R&D is working on the problem for the Android.  For the iOS users if you have enabled hardware decoder then it is a thermal issue.  I use a iPad 2 mini for my primary monitor.  I have no problems when the temps are in the 70's or even the 80's.  When it gets above that, the iPad gets very hot and after about 10 minutes the video will begin to lag, not bad but you can see a few skipped frames.  However, above 90F and you will have serious thermal issues.  I flew two weeks ago in in 95-96F and after 8 minutes the video was lagging noticeably after 12 minutes the App shut down and after 15 minutes the iPad shut down because it was too hot.  I go through this every summer.  I store my iPad in an insulated bag with blue ice to cool it down before and in between flights.  If I leave it at ambient and it is 110F then my flights are LOS without an App.  It hits 125-130F almost instantly.  I disagree that this is a firmware issue.  I think that the introduction of v1.1.9 was coincidental to increases in temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere.  That is my speculation since everyone else has theirs.  Yes there are things that you can do to make the situation better.  Use them.  We are diligently working on it.

I find it hard to believe that Apple doesn't test their products to operate in warm environments.
Will someone post the operating specs for thier iOS device?

For once i am going to agree with you BUT at the same time PLEASE keep us updated of the situation, i guess i am gonna have to go and get me a new iPad air 2 and get this over with so i can enjoy my freaking phantom 3.
