Any word or thoughts out there on when DJI will make the Mavic 2 controller (the RC1A) available to bought as a standalone item?

Has the RC1A or RC1B ever been available for purchase from the dji store? The Mavic Pro controller is available, why not Mavic 2? My only thought would be dji is pushing the "smart" controller, which doesn't allow the use of 3rd party mapping apps like Pix4D. DJI should do better for its customers.
