It seems at times both the left and right sizes of the iPhone X loose space and black areas cover them.

Anyone else having this issue?

Yea, thats usually one of the first things I do.. As a iPhone developer you end up doing a lot of that when working on your own stuff ;)

Hahaha - I'm sure you do

The margins on the video feed are by design, so I don't think they'll be changed.

1. The most important reason, older iPhones (eg. 7 or 8) were 16:9 but the iPhone X (XS, etc) is 19.5:9 so if the video feed was 'full screen', you'd lose some of the picture on the top and bottom
2. The 'safe areas' for content on the X in landscape are quite wide due to rounded corners (compared to a 7 in landscape)
3. They're following what all other video apps do - check YouTube or play a video in Safari - all have borders on sides

NOTE: for people who don't have an iPhone X, etc - the 'notch' is on the left hand side and would obscure the feed too, you don't see that in the screenshot

I realize that, what your missing is the A/E Lock button cant be tapped on due to the the three ... black area in the upper right..

The buttons on the top-right of the screen (three dots + AE lock), although a little awkward to press, work fine for me?

Guess you have that magic touch.. its still bad design, never hide or try to make UI elements hard to click.. I think things could be shifted to the left for iPhone X users..

Aren’t the borders to allow for the RC  clamps?

Maybe , but I agree - the app could do with some design-love. They've simply been bolting things on to it year after year - you can see why people use an iPad or Crystal Sky!

Nope. they dont come near those spots.. clearly everyone can see the issue, its a matter of maybe adjusting some of the UI elements, this seems like a recent change because I know I haven't had that issue in the past.
