Each year, Lantau Boat Club (LBC) hosts an amazing event in which they embark on a single day race around Lantau Island (around 75 km)  in six person outrigger boats. This event is all about raising money and awareness for Hong Kong’s struggling cetacean populations, the Chinese White Dolphin and the Finless Porpoise.

This year’s event was held on Saturday 8 September 2018. This year, they have approached the Lantau Paddle team, along with Plastic Free Seas and Gary Stokes from Sea Shepard, to assist in bringing the event to the communities, in particular the youth of Discovery Bay and Lantau.

We were invited to film this event - since we were shooting off a boat we opted for our DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2 Drones, since it is in our humble opinion still the best drone for this kind of shooting. Landings had to be done with the boot moving at a fast pace so the sturdy landing gear was great to have.

And we managed to film dolphins
