I was just curious to see how popular the DJI drones are.

Good poll. Just been flying a couple  months. Got the bug and bought a Spark and love it. 2 weeks later bought the Mavic Air and like it to but want to learn more before I fly it much. Bought the Mavic 2 Zoom off the DJI store about 20 minutes after it cam out, The Mavic Air has been sent back to DJI for motor current error and just got a email they are going to replace it. Haven’t flew the Air or the Zoom a lot but man I have wore the Spark out.

I've owned a Spark, MA, MP, MPAW, MPP, P3P, P4P and I currently own the I1V2 X3 - the Inspire is by far my favourite to date. I'm in my third year of flying these amazing drones having learn't to fly in ATTI mode on the Phantom 3 Professional back in 2016 - and I can honestly say that I have never crashed any of them - not even replaced a prop. All have at least something the others don't and one is only better if it suits your needs the most.

I progressed from a mini drone to a sky viper, to a Shox raptor to the Spark. And I still have all of them in flying condition.
Prefer the spark though!

WOW! your collection must be worth a lot. How come for the Inspire, don't you like the MP more, I mean the inspire is just massive and expensive, of course it is your decision after all. Thanks

No collection now as sold the lot - except the Inspire. The Inspire is amazing - reached 77.7MPH in 35MPH winds and it is extremely responsive and agile. The ability to operate in a master/slave set up and do 360 degree pans is brilliant too. It is massive but it is a totally different type of drone. It's a professional class

Nice, What do you use it for?

Taking aerial stills and filming video for my own personal/recreational use as what one may call an experienced/serious hobbyist - flown thousands of flights over the UK. Have considered taking the PfCO but I have no need to earn money form the drone and the enjoyment of flying it is as important to me as the footage I capture. The Inspire is a seriously cool drone.

I’m going to buy a race drone this month
Eachine wizard x220s with the ev800d goggles.
So apart from my 2 camera drones, spark and Yuneec q500 (which has the camera broken,it doesn’t appear on the WiFi list but I’m gonna buy a 4K camera for 50-70 euros with a small defect,
I’m going to joint the FPV drone race/freestyle community

Happy flying all

Hi Alex

Time is not a problem, I was medically retired in 2014 so it was this or watching Netflix all day in my underwear while eating chocolate pudding.

As for cost? The majority of my robotic minions were purchased as “Spares or Repairs” or discontinued sales. The only machine I purchased at full retail was my first Phantom back in 2013. Even the Spark “Fly More” combo was bought new but at a heavily discounted price as the store was about to go into liquidation.

I would say I’ve been lucky more than anything. Of all the “Spares and Repairs” I’ve bought there’s only one, so far, that I haven’t been able to resurrect back to life, but all is not lost as all it needs is a new flight controller and tweaking of the code to accommodate the unique configuration and it will fly again.

I would encourage everyone to look into building and tinkering. It’s not some mystical dark art that only a privileged few can do. If you can handle a screwdriver and have basic soldering skills to begin with it’s well within most people’s capabilities and a whole heap of fun. It can also be very economical, my most recent build - a 500 size quad with gps, FPV, waypoint capable, and full telemetry - was built for less than $70 with parts I purchased in a Hobbyking Sale earlier this year.

With all of that being said I still think the Spark is a little marvel, so much tech in such a small package.

Regards

Nidge.

A Spark, quite a few 5" FPV quads, a few micros/tiny whoops, a self-built X550 with Pixhawk, GPS, bluetooth, 2 axis gimbal. Oh and a S800 wing. I more or less only fly my 5" FPV quads and the wing.

I have a spark, Phantom 3 standard, Mavic pro, Mavic Air, Yuneec Q500, Yuneec Breeze,  and about 10 other toy drones. I started out with the toys to learn how to fly before going for the big bucks. Honestly I fly the spark the most, just a fantastic platform for all around piloting.

Yesterday I bought on the Ali express 11.11 offer, for 25 euros the cheap knock off of the Mavic Pro, eachine58 I think it’s called. Piece of .... but I want it to fly about, just mess about in my local park, as it’s a toy, it weighs nothing. It’s a mini replica of the Mavic Pro. I don’t fly my Mavic Pro or my spark or my Yuneec q500 in the local park, so I got this thing.

Flysafely all and enjoy
