I tried formatting my SD Card to NTFS through PC, but MA says its broken and requires formatting, and it obviouslty formats it to FAT32 that splits large movies into <3,5gb parts.

Seriously DJI? Please..

I got Samsung 256gb evo+

I've complained about this since the Mavic first came out and the explanation given to me was that sometimes there can be file corruption and having multiple files provides a better chance that one of the files will be good.

Isn't NTFS still licensable?

Also why would you want to use a 256GB card in a drone?
I get memory is cheap, but when you drone doesn't have enough battery to fill a 64GB card using a card beyond that is pointless.

My new canon camera uses exfat and will happily make a 20gb or more 4K video file.

The MA uses exFat too, IIRC the 4GB file limit is just the default in DJI Go

There is no need to have NTFS.
If DJI would simply follow the JEITA - Design rules for camera systems the 4GB file size limit will vanish into thin air.

Yeh, they should use a bloated, slow, proprietary and closed file system like NTFS which also means anyone using Linux, Mac etc can't read the card... Great idea! You can format your card as exFAT which has a file size limit of 128 PiB so the limitation isn't with the file system, it's with DJI's code which chunks the files.

I've been using a 256GB card with exFAT just fine. No 4GB limit.
NTFS is the last file system I'd put on an SD Card.. Btrfs however would be an interesting proposition.

If you record a long length video, DJI drones (at least all Phantoms and Mavics) will write a video file up to 4gb then start writing a new file. This is probably to ensure than anyone who's formatted their SD card as fat32 won't hit any problems.
