Did some test with a drone and all were going good.
We have a permit to do the test @ this location above private land and no houses or whatever with in a 30min time limit.
I think a nice view.

I can’t tell more about this test over here.
What i can say is that it was a test for a third party to test a Glider.
So when we shut down the drone’s engine it has to become a glider.( paraglider)
About the how high question, it’s around 5000 feet.

I only like to share the view.

Very impressive.
We are definitely not allowed to do this here in NL.
The air above the ground is not owned by the owner of the ground.
It is controlled by the authorities.

Yes, this is correct and this is why we get a 30min window because of free airspace on top of this location. (no air traffic)

Here one would need a pro license + a rather expensive permit to do so.
And a good reason to be flying there.
All are out of reach for me.

I must say the 120m we can fly right now is sufficient most of the time.
But this extreme view is also very nice.....

I must say I was tempted in Sweden, but then again: if something goes wrong.....
And they can always check the log so no hiding on that part.

Surprised a quadcopter (with only GPS and ATTI modes) could descend from 5,000 feet without running out of battery.  They don't descend well.  They take a long time coming down due to their fixed pitch propellers and need to maintain stability.

A racing drone in RATE mode could just roll over and dive for the ground as fast as it can climb.  This photo was from a DJI GPS stabilized drone?  Or race drone parts in an gutted Phantom drone frame?

This photo is from a stock (hardware) DJI GPS stabilized drone.
