Hi,

I just received a new Mavic Air as a warranty replacement.

Checking the firmware on the bird,  it's 01.00.0300

Remote controll firmware is 01.000.0100

Question:

if I'm going to upgrade from the 0300 firmware to the new released  0500 firmware without first upgrading to the infamous 0400 firmware (which has no roll back option) and I want for some reason to roll back, can I downgrade from 0500 to 0300?

Thank you for your input.

If you upgrade to 0.500, you will only be able to downgrade to 0.400
However 0.500 is supposed to be the best yet, according to the poll.
I'm on 0.400 but i'll wait for the poll to finish before I upgrade.

Installing 0500 will also install the changes from 0400.

Hi Ken Storm,
thank you for your reply. I guess I'm going to stay with the 0.300 until there is a 100% working upgrade.
I hate to install the 0.400 without the chance to downgrade.

Infamous to a few, .400 was fine to 99% of users, there always people who report issues with each release, just the nature of upgrades, you only hear about the problems.

You are probably right, but I don't want to get into any problems.
Thanks for your reply.

Maybe if you go back and look at all the problems with .300 , it might change your mind, no matter what FW your on there will always be some having problems, I don’t believe dji are introducing FW for any other reason but to improve your flying experience.

Thank you for your reply, I'm only scared, since there are soooooo many negative posts about the .400 firmware upgrade.

If you aren’t experiencing issues with the 0300 version, then there’s probably no hurry to upgrade.  0400 and 0500 have been fine for me, but I do realize some have had problems with these versions as well as all other versions.  If you wait for a 100% version, I’m afraid you’ll be waiting forever.

I hope you have many fun and safe flights ahead!

I upgraded on Friday, drone crashed yesterday and waiting for support answer.
RTH took place and the drone motors turned off, the drone crashed from 300 ft

llazzaro, I'd be interested to check out your logs to see if there is anything useful in there to learn from.  Could you upload your flight record from your phone/table to the following site and then post the resulting URL here in this thread?  I'm sure many of the members here would be interested to learn from your experience!

Robert,  I'm still on 0.0300 and have no plans of upgrading to 0.0400 or 0.0500.  But that's me....I'm NOT having any issues on 0.0300.  Some were critical of me NOT recommending the newest 0.0500 firmware update but if your flying your Mavic Air without any issues than there is really no reason to update the firmware.

Also, the others are correct.  If you install the 0.0500 firmware you can only rollback to 0.0400 firmware with the newest DJI Assistant 2 app.  The older DJI Assistant 2 app let's you roll back from 0.0300 to I believe 0.0200 I believe it was.  Hope that helps...
