Yes. It uses GPS to return to the home point. That works even when the light is poor. Just make sure you take off from a clear area in case the Mavic lands several feet from the original takeoff point.

It may take a harder landing due to no obstacle avoidance if it's too dark. Can be solved with a god flashlight pointed at the landing zone.

If you are flying after dark, one you should have anti collision lights on the bird, and two, a really good LED flashlight to light the landing area.  Be sure you have your RTH set at a good altitude prior to take off (too clear trees as an example).

Yes it does. I only sometimes have issues with the obstacle avoidance and have to shut it down. If I don't do that the MP sometimes refuses to RTH.
