I like to tell a short story after a stressy moment with a, lucky me hapy (l)ending. Yesterday I was flying with my Mavic Air and she was about 2 km's away (incl. range extender) at 150 m hight, in open field and out of sight. At certain moment it happened almost at the same time I've got the signals "lost signal, warning low battery level". I wanted to let her return but my cellphone quit and switched off. A moment I was desperate, more rather a bit in panic and thought "missed drone in action", no signals, no voice, no nothing.

While I was thinking how to handle in this (panic) situation, it was a minute of three later, my cellphone wat rebooting, when I heard a noice heard before and far away. And see..... high in the sky there she was my "lady in red". I was saved by automatic RTH in case of automatic return by the sign LOW BATTERY.

I am happy that your incident had a happy landing and hope you'll draw the appropriate conclusions for your future flights. Others unfortunately learn the lesson the harder way.

Good story. One I hope I never have to retell my self. I don't let my 'lady in red' go further than 500m away. (UK Limit on visual line of sight)

Lucky man, glad it ended well for you.

Personally I wouldn't take it out any further than I can see any of our birds clearly winking and waving at me, tried a distance flight once and the stress had me convinced it wasn't worth it.
