The goggles, as the name suggests, has the primary function of protecting the eyes of the wearer against mechanical impact, such as projections of dust or solid particles, or against chemical risks.

The main function of the telescope is to correct the view of the wearer so that he can see correctly if he has vision defects such as myopia, for example.

Finally, a sunglass protects against UVA and UVB rays emitted by the sun.

These different functions impose differences in the choice of materials used as well as in the proposed treatments.

The materials used
To fulfill their respective functions, eyeglasses, sunglasses and goggles are made from different materials.

There are 3 distinct families regarding the composition of spectacle lenses: mineral, organic and polycarbonate.

For the safety glasses, it is polycarbonate which is very predominantly privileged. It is an organic material that has the advantage of also having a very good impact resistance and therefore the best mechanical resistance.

For eyeglasses, mineral glass was used mainly until the 1980s but is almost no longer used today because it is breakable and relatively heavy. It is now organic glass that is now the most widespread material. Created from totally synthetic materials, organic lenses are lighter, more comfortable, thinner, and more, they adapt to all frames.

To understand the composition of sunglasses, it should be remembered that, contrary to popular belief, it is not the hue or intensity that protect the eyes from UV rays. This is the matter of the screen! Some materials such as polycarbonate or very thin organic glasses naturally filter 100% of UV. The hue, meanwhile, has an action only on dazzle. The darker the glass, the more it decreases the amount of light entering the eye.

Thus, even polycarbonate safety glasses or goggles, even without tint, can give you 100% UV protection - far better protection than cheap sunglasses hut.

At work, the risk of fogging is dangerous!

When condensation forms on your lenses, your visibility is reduced. You then find yourself completely in the fog. It's annoying and annoying in everyday life: when you wear glasses and boil water or wear sunglasses to jog and sweat. It is very rare to have an anti-fog treatment for glasses or sunglasses.

But in some work environments, fogging can be very dangerous for the wearer if his visibility is reduced by the presence of fog on his glasses or vice versa, if he must remove his goggles for the glasses. wipe because it will then be vulnerable to a projection in the eye.

That's why the anti-fog performance is a key criterion for measuring the performance of a goggles eyewear.

Anti-scratch, a must for eyeglasses and safety glasses
