Its oddly specific, but I want to get into the amateur photography trend, and I want to know some simple methods for getting a good shot (ex: how fast should i move the gimbal, should i rotate the drone during the shot?) and to start off well I want to get a shot of my neighborhood. The only videos ive gotten of it so far are shots where the drone is going foward. Those arent too great, honestly, so i need some advice from the community.

If you're doing video just try to make longer, smooth shots where the camera movement is smooth and not distracting to your shot. That's why most people use the "forward motion" shot because it's the easiest to make smooth. You can do some gimbal movement and make it look smooth but like previous user posted, go very slow. Also, I've never had good luck making side to side pan shots looks smooth with the Spark. Very hard to do.

Try Tripot mode for smooth videos.

Ok, here is an easy answer from me.. Watch lots of video in same genre you wanna shoot. See lots of pictures.. And spend hours trying.. In my humble opinion, you can get as much of technical advise as possible, but in the end, is you pressing the shutter.. So go out and try and keep us busy with your progresses!

Watch videos.
Practice.
Ask questions.
Read.
Repeat.

A Spark in the dark - neighborhood night shot

Spark does not have the best camera so you will want to use light to your advantage. Sunrise and Sunset will yield good results.
