Hey could someone verify for me if dji changed battery manufacturers? From dongguan amperex to sunwoda electronics? The new batch of batteries for he mavic pro seems not as well built. Externally anyway.. the battery doesn't fit my mavic pro as well as the old ones.. the ones from sunwoda seem to be of am inferior quality.. one the outside.. the plastic molding is not as well made as the dongguan amperex ones.. could someone verify that for me. Tq.

Forgot to mention even the contacts are different.. the quality of the battery just feels less substantial.. not like the old ones.. but the charge is good. It's got a good mah reading..

Also wanted to mention.. my original batteries that came with the mavic pro when i bought them have dropped significantly in their capacity.. is there something which i need to do in order to care for them properly? I usually just fly them down to roughly 25% or 10%. I store them at around 3 led indicators.. could the weather here in malaysia be a problem? I notice the unit tends to be quite hot when i land.. even the motors..

After around 30 charges my battery capacity has dropped to roughly 3300mah.. is that normal?

I watched the video and it should certainly not be like that.
The battery must be replaced.

The cells seem fine.. it's the casing that's ill measured.

They just came in the post. The bottoms flat no puffing up or anything like. The plastic on the otherhand seems badly fitted.

Brand new out of the box.

But i'm not using them till i have my answer.

I want to thank you for bring this problem up to DJI.
I was planning to purchase some new batteries for my PRO but will put it off until I see if there is a problem or if you just got a battery that was bad.

Brand new out of the box.

If you have to squeeze the battery this hard, it will cause some stress to the body of the drone and it's not supposed to be like that. The battery is produced incorrectly and must to be replaced - it's quite simple.

Hi, dji paladin.. I bought the battery for a pretty penny. And it's sitting there in storage waiting for an answer.. Sorry for hassling but could you give me an answer soon. It seems from the statement of other users it'd be bad using it in my mavic pro.. which is my favourite piece of tech.. but now i'm stuck with 3 batteries with mah capacities of only 3300+- only after about 30 charge cycles and a new battery that's not fitting properly.. please help. Tq.

Hi there, sorry to hear that. When did you purchase your original batteries? You can provide me the serial number so that I can check it for you. May I know what is the current weather condition at that time? Did you receive an error message on the APP? If yes, kindly provide a screenshot or a short video showing the issue. Send the battery back to the retailer as defective. Exchange for a new one and if it is also defective get a new retailer.

So was there a change of manufacturers? And is the battery safe to use? I haven't flown with it yet but i've checked it in the dji go app and it seems healthy. The only problem i have is that it has an extremely tight fit.. and as you have probably seen in the video i posted the plastic moulding seems to be of a different make. Like it was from a different mold.

Oh one last question.. my earlier batteries which came with the fly more combo seems to have dropped in capacity from the original 3830mah (closer to 3950mah) to 3350mah after 30 charges. Is that normal? Thank you for your kind response.

Very interesting find! I would definitely get this battery replaced as it obviously is badly fitted. I'm hoping this is case-specific only and isn't a widespread issue.
If it is due to the new manufacturer, go to a different retailer (such as Amazon) and purchase the batteries there; you'll get the better manufacturer as retailers like Amazon store them in a warehouse and don't get the worse "updated" version.
