I understand that using a 3. parties app is voiding the warranty.
But this little DJI Spark can do so great with 'em!
Thanks, DJI.

Both Sparks are on the same (litchi) mission, just the one in the video is on 30m and filming POIs, while the videoing one is on 45m (way to high/distant, but I had not enough time, to try a lot and to do it shallower and with a very little camera angle. Next time ;-)Both are on the very same waypoint list

I am sure, that can be done better.
It was the first real try for a tandem!

Nice idea! I like it!

Cheers,

I have this idea, since I got my second Spark, one year ago.
To use the one, to film the other.
But couldn't really make that worthwhile, without a waypoint app.

And till I saw in the DJI forums, topic was about "why do people want litchi" (something like that), and Dirty Bird posted one of his "Follow the Leader" mission videos in there,
I got the idea, to check it out.
Just needed a app for the Spark with waypoints.

So now I am trying to figure out, if and how this could work with 2 Sparks.
In daytime at least, and much slower  speed (tribute to 2 axxis gimbal).
Now I need to find the baseline for such settings.

Many thanks to Dirty Bird, your mission videos are really inspiring!

Oh, i actually think, that it was this one, which I watched here in the forums:

Disclaimer: This is not my work, this is one of the Videos from "Dirty Bird" (P3, if I remember that right),  whom you can find in this forum and on youtube. I just wanted to point out, how I got the idea to bring two Sparks on a mission, together.

I liked the dirty bird follow me through some harbor.. not sure the regulatory bodies like it but it was cool none the less..

I also recall somewhere where I saw someone use a spark to 'active track' another.. worked ok

I tried to active track a Spark with the other.
But that failed or needed so smooth and slow  motion, that it was nothing like real flying.
Mostly "subject lost", "subject to close", "subject to far", Spark tracked the background but not the Spark, .... !
I was just about to let the one pull a flag behind, in bright red or such, but .... ;-)

It looks scary at some point as it almost looks like it going to hit the tree and the light pole

Pov, just pov ;-)
I played it very safe, today.
And from below it was just fine.
There was about 10m space to the top of the poles
And the trees are not even that high.
I hope that I have more time when I try that again.
Need go correct the POI- position of the last two poles and think about the best way to set height and cam direction from the follower.
I would like to focus more on the mission moving of the yellow Spark.
Also the panning of the cam drone was way to much, I think.
It is a interesting challenge

WAY TOO COOL!

This is partly how my son and I ended up with a PAIR of sparks as we watched Dirty Bird's videos too.....  I hope to soon be following in your footsteps with learning Litchi.

I guess i am not such a risk taker, but that was really cool... well done

That lower spark sure looked like it was getting really close to some objects!

I've seen other cool Litchi videos but none ever inspired me like yours does. I think I'm going to buy Litchi now and map some missions around my town. Thanks for the inspiration! Is Litchi always the same price or does it ever go on sale?

Bing Err, thank you very much.

But I think I have to point more on to the fact, that just the first video in the entry post of this topic, is mine. ;-)
Which is the beginning of an idea.

The second one, however,  I have linked because that 's very  inspiring and pointed me into the direction of litchi.

Cute idea!  Fun use of Litchi, too.  Future planning might include a more contrasted background and specific instructions to, "Watch OUT for those light poles !!!1 "  :-)

LoL
"Those lightpoles" are well known, include the height (20m ;-)
That's one of the reasons, for testing there.
I could really plan (guess) that testflight on the computer, to get/stop by there for flying 2 batteries and done.

Your mention of batteries got me thinking.  It sure would be nice if there were some options for batteries with longer flight times.  Those missions end up being half of what I get with the Mavic Pro.

Yep, 10 minutes max., methinks
And just in case, the mission is in reach of the RC, so that you can cancel the RTH.

But I think, even here is Litchi a great help!
You can plan a mission as far as it goes, and start the next mission from the last  waypoint in a new mission.
Just start from there, again, and plan the follow up from that waypoint.

Lots of ideas, right now ;-)

Ten minutes sounds about right.
I've planned a few missions for my neighbor's soy bean field.  This spring his crop suffered damage when a contractor applied too much weed control chemical.  I used a Mavic Pro to run the mission and video the damage 1) immediately following the spraying; 2) Three days later, 3) Two weeks later; and just as the crop should have been at it's peak.  I was going to try the same mission (just before harvest) and noticed the missions were 10-13 minutes and decided the Spark wasn't going to work.  Plus, when it's a little windy the battery seems to go faster in proportion that that of the Pro.
