On the sencond flight of my MA i hit a small branch and it fell but the drone cought its self before hitting the ground, this had me thinking, is there a way to get the drone to do a controlled flip?

No, you cannot perform a controlled flip with the Mavic Air.

Interesting. If you’re holding the Air with the blades turning and flip it on it’s side it shuts down so you’d need to be really quick on the restart to stop it hitting the deck.
