Of course, no problem at all.
Turn your Phantom 3 around and take a new photo every 15-30 degrees or so, then use Photomerge in Adobe Photoshop to stitch them together.
See this tutorial for more help.

My first spherical panorama shot with the Phantom 3 (link)

Seeking a way to automatically capture with the app (no manual control copter).

Someone knows about the existence of such an application for a phantom 3?

Same here.  Some kind of on screen guild that locates the next tile to shoot.....

I have found this forum to be very helpful when people are active in the thread... With the being said.. Yes, you can take panoramic photos with the Phantom 3 Adv / Pro. I actually just when outside and took my first series of "short-turn and snap" photos and stictched them together automatically in photoshop. It was relatively easy already having quite a bit of experience with the program... Shouldn't be too difficult for anyone whose computer / software savvy. There are some websites that let you do the same thing but I haven't been able to find one that was as easy as opening photoshop > automate > photo merge, etc.

So here it is! My first panoramic with my Phantom 3 Professional in the Central Florida area - A storm just passed by and the sun was going down fast!

Cheers!

Hi Tom,
Seems like most people on this Forum think that a 360 Panorama is just a series of horizontal images joined together to cover 360 view in a single picture.  Like Adam Furik's image.  These images are cylindrical, not spherical.
I have been taking Spherical Panoramas from the ground for many years, and to me this involves projecting an image which includes everything from straight up to straight down and everything in between projected onto the inside of a sphere.  And I guess this is also what you are talking about.

So that people can see better what a 360 panorama looks like, here is a link to one of my many published 360s:

http://www.360cities.net/image/lincoln-cathedral-the-high-altar

So the answer to your question is no.  Because you cannot take any picture above about 30 degrees above the horizontal, as the props will be included, and you certainly cannot capture the vertical upward shot, from this P3.  You would need an identical camera mounted on top of the P3 to do this.

just take the images as you pan round and then use the below free microsoft program to auto stitch them, works a treat

Try Litchi for DJI Phantom/Inspire:
https://play.google.com/store/ap ... re.visionplus&hl=en
It will shoot 360 panos with multiple passes, high, low, middle, etc... stitch in Lightroom or Photoshop. Works very well!

I do them.
Use IE or Chrome on the links below.
Will not work with some phones.
This was done with Litchi Pano 9 x 3 rows.
Stitching was done by AutoPano Giga in spherical mode.

A 'fake' sky is added to remove the props. Its then converted to 8000x4000 and uploaded via Google streets on my Android.
And just a note, when you're up high, you only look down. Its like when you are doing ground 360 sphericals - you tend to look up and never down.

Here is a spherical I made using Microsoft Image Composite Editor and uploaded to Photosynth.  When i took the photos I hadn't planned on making a spherical.  Had I taken straight-down pictures it would have filled in the black disk at the bottom.

Hi guys,

I'm just in progress of creating a 360 panorama app for the Phantom 3+4...a simple app enabling you to press the "360" button and the app will handle the rest, no more need for separate tools.

If anyone is interested in joining the closed beta phase please drop me an E-Mail... kiteflo at gmail.com

cheers,
Florian
