Because of the unseasonably dry and warm weather our beautiful state continues to burn with another massive wildfire.  Even though this one is over 200 miles away the air pattern is blowing the smoke south over San Jose. This is an early morning picture Nov 9th with San Jose in the background and you can see the smoke like a blanket over everything.

Beautiful image, however, I feel sadness seeing such destruction of the fire in the woods, people and wildlife losing their homes.

I hope everyone is well.

Hugs,

Nice capture, we had fires this summer, a little closer, so strong in fact that you could not open the windows in the house, or stay out so long.  Hope they steer clear of you.  Does make for interesting haze in a photo all the same.  Hope those folks and creatures closer are safe.

Nice shot! Also hoping for lots of rain to help putting out the fires..

That would need to be really a lot of rain, methinks.
Monsoon rainfall over days, perhaps, could help.
But "just strong rain" could even be harmful:
Even more wet wood that burns!

I 100% agree. This one just keeps getting bigger and bigger. If would could even just get some moisture in the air it would help. But no rain in the coming days.

Well said. I hope that people remain safe and the fire crews can get a handle on this quick.

Rain would really help or at least some moisture in the air. Too much rain and it might erode everything too.
