Hi guys,
A friend of mine lost his Mavic air in a lake yesterday and we had no luck recovering it today.

As he still has the remote and all the accessories the question is if it is possible to buy just the drone without the remote controller from DJI...
I already checked there store page but it looks like they are just selling the drone with the remote in one package?

Your best bet would be to buy just the drone second handed. I don’t think that you can buy a new mavic air without the remote.

You used to be able to buy the Mavic Pro by itself so i would guess they sell the Air without a remote too? Maybe a mod will come and confirm

Sadly they don't mate - the OP would be better off buying second hand.

That’s a shame, he obviously still has the remote and doesn’t need another one.
But you are right. Maybe it’s better to just buy one second hand and try to sell one of the remotes.

2 remotes can be fun. One to fly and the other to take pics and videos. I have 2 Mavic Pro's and always wanted to try that but i don't know anyone that knows how to fly my birds so....

It's not available in the DJI Store, but DJI might sell you one. Try contacting DJI Support and see if it's an option they'll entertain.

It is a bit strange why you can't but can buy a stand alone Mavic Pro, P4P and Inspire.
